Thanks for going to the effort of making and linking this. Compliments to the guy that did the video editing because wow, impressive.
i'm d/ling this right now, i hope i'm not disappointed D:. i can only take so many amateur flicks (not the XXX type).
edit:
this is THE best frag video I have ever seen. the only thing it lacked was general polish (the text effects often looked cheesy, and the glow effect can be used only so often before you get sick of it). Also, the visual quality of the movie wasn't that great, the compression really ruined that. other than that, the editing was by far just the most amazing job i've ever seen, and this is coming from a guy with 30gb of frag movies. nothing the cs community has produced comes close the originality and feeling of awe i get from watching this movie. i think if this movie was given some furthur polish, and perhaps remade at 800x600 for higher bandwidth/spec users, it would be perfect.
anyways, i'm just glad that there's finally a movie without random zoom effects, music oriented flashes, and for once, the footage is in sync with the movie, not the effects. the best part has to be the awesome directing and music of the movie, and there could've been no better soundtrack to this. it's totally original, which is what frag movies have so long been lacking. thank god for RoTc.
p.s. that's an oss style roster right there D:
p.s.s. there's this mosquito i just crushed that's been annoying me all day. it's lying on my desk just flinching. should i kill it?
This movie is just amazing. I love it.
This is just the best promotion of NS i have ever seen. It captures everything NS is about.
Can't wait for part III <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
At around 2:16, someone kills two skulks just outside SatComm hive on Tanith. As soon as the first skulk is dead, his aim INSTANTLY snaps to the next skulk, and aims just behind it at the hitbox... seriously...
Aside, the move was good... if the goal was to impress your 10th grade video editing class. The effects were annoying, poorly done, fast motion really blows no matter what you're using it for, the text was obnoxious, and most of the shots were just obnoxious panning around through maps, or playing with plugins to make it look 'cool', but in the end, it just felt a waste of my time.
I mean, c'mon, Boondock Marines was funny, this was just... a lame skill video.
Anyway, reminds me a lot of those planetside assault videos floating around. They're kinda neat, but gunked up with lame non-game editing (bad music, effects, etc) and all it is is somke kids showing off some lucky kills.
There's a few annoying points though, first is the voice comms bar, it appears in quite a few shots (like of the Hera landing pad) and it just gets in the way, you should have tried to keep that kinda thing out of the final cut. Also, another thing is a few of the big kills, like the Onos on co_somethingorother, that Onos was dumb, it deserved to die. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It looks good, nice editing also, the music gives it a uhh real movie effect.
I'll pass it on too friends <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
anybody has a link for part I !?!?!?!? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
i desperatly want it too <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
ps. I love you to camo.
My personal favourite part was all the lerks in Hera marine start, and then about 30 skulks leaping down to eat the sole HA. Quality stuff, can't wait for the next part <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Secondly what's the song in the backround? Sounds like Symphony X.
