"I am" is not the shortest English sentance - that would be "Go." It's in the command form, so the subject is assumed to be "you," but it is grammatically correct to leave the subject out of this kind of sentance.

Quite a number of those a wrong or slightly off (I think there's actually a thread about the McDonald's thing somewhere on this forum...at the time the guy who wrote the book...wrote the book...it was true, but it isn't anymore - or so was deduced last I read the thread).

I think the "I am" one is supposed to go: " 'I am' is the shortest sentance in the English language with a subject and verb." or something.

That horse statue thing would be interesting and useful to taunt your friends with...if it's true.

This statement would still be incorrect. Despite the fact that "Go." does not have a subject explicitly stated in the sentence, the subject does exist. The subject of an imperative sentence, a sentence that issues a command to the subject, is always "you;" because the subject is always understood to be "you," it does not need to be expressed.

Additionally, the statement that any sentence could be "the shortest sentence . . . with a subject and [a] verb" is redundant, as a sentence must have a subject and a predicate to be considered any kind of English sentence.

That reminds me . . . there's a town here in Iowa (I can't remember the name) where it is illegal for men with moustaches to kiss women in public.

Edit: My mistake, that's law in several other places in the US, but not in Iowa. I'm pretty sure that it was once law here, but the law was repealed recently.

No, no, no. I am so tired of hearing this, because it just isn't true.

Skeptical?

http://www.snopes.com/language/literary/rosie.htm

Some of the biggest reasons are things like, Ring Around the Rosy doesn't appear in written form until the 1800's, meaning that children would have to be singing it continuously for five centuries, and if it were that popular, surely someone would have recorded it earlier.

The link provides more reasons.

I love when the butchy girl kicks the brother in the balls, then the other brother just decks her. Funniest scene in a movie ever...lol.

I live in Nevada, check these state laws out :

1.) It is illegal to drive a camel on the highway.
2.) It's still "legal" to hang someone for shooting your dog on your property.
