Help me out
Hey, whats up. I've been following NS for a couple months now. But something came up with me today and I need some other people's thoughts on it.
I got a new job today, it's warehouse work, and the hours are from 6 PM to 4:30 AM (10 hours). Now I also go to school (college), and thats roughly from 8 AM to 2 PM, with about 3 hours of break in between. The job will only be 4 days a week, and probably on weekends (friday night through monday night). Does anybody have any experience on this kind of situation? The only reason I'm considering it is because the pay is very good. But I don't know if I would have enough time to work, do school stuff, sleep, and play NS Thanks for you gies' help.

If you're in class everyday, I'd suggest trying to fill that break with a class and dropping the later one. But, if it's only one semester you might make it. You will, however, need a very good alarm clock

Some people need more sleep then others. Test out your biological clock to see if it works for you.

I would last about 2 weeks on that schedule. It really depends how difficult your college is, and what kind of grades you want to get. Studies have shown that a normal-hours part-time job in excess of 15 hours/week can affect GPA by a letter grade or more; no telling what a 40-hour/week graveyard shift would do.

It's your call; I personally would definitely advise against it. And grades aside, the weekend is prime socializing time at college - you should be meeting cute chicks, not slaving in a warehouse. (:

I'm an engineer (in school), I do all-nighters, they're draining. Doing this on a regular basis seems to leave you no time to recuperate, I wouldn't do it...

lets see, 8-2 with a 3 hour break in there, then in 2.5 hours you work. Doesn't sound like there's any time to work on class-work, unless that's factored in. Even then, if you can control sleep precisely, you get 4.5 hours of sleep (half an hour around each sleep session). On the day's you have off, you'll sleep the entire time, and your body won't let you do otherwise, chemical aids only go so far, I know. And I love coffee.

As a side note, I have no bio-clock anymore, I broke it my first semester.

Yah, gotta be careful about that.
