Booyah! Thanks for not disappointing, Paranoia and Streisand.
Yeah, yeah, people died. So what?
Whales die, birds die, rats die, cockroaches die, people die. War or peace, it ammounts to the same thing. They're fertilizer and so are we. It's not us--humanity--that matters. It's the assumption that humanity matters that has us putting borders up and starting wars.
Go ahead and mourn the deaths, but keep it in perspective. As globalization spreads further, random events will cost more and more lives as there'll be more and more wasted lives to throw away without a care. Picture a kid stomping on ant hill; it amounts to the same level of "tragedy." Yet the ants will mill around angrily, trying to find what did them wrong and kill it or chase it off, no matter that they're too small and inefectual to do anything about it but put the dead to use in their fungus culture gardens.
How many Koreans have been killed in the dispute over political whims?
How many Muslims have been killed by Israelis?
How many Iraqis have been killed by Americans?
How many Chinese children die in the villages funded by American technology companies to "recycle" the "important minerals" that are used in today's throw-away gadgets because there's no method for disposing of %99.99 of the components that AREN'T recycled and leaky stuff just piles up on every street corner, in every gutter, in every water supply?
Just because it's "harder to tally" and doesn't get Hollywood flair in-your-face presentations or satellite recon photography, none of that matters any more than an exploding train [OMG!!!111 pretyt falmes!!1!1!1! so k3wl!!1!!1]? Why should I care about fifty-four dead [yes, I knew the initial "three-thousand" number was grossly exaggerated, hence the "inflatable people" remark; hellooooooooooooo?] when the majority of them had been adults who'd been given their chance at life? Why should I ignore the children who aren't even given five years to prove their worth to the world?
And yes, the gas prices will go up. They've been going up daily, but who complains? The US controls an extra third of the entire world's supply of crude oil and natural gas [extra; on top of what they had before, which was well over a quarter], yet prices have to go up anyway. Not because there's a shortage of the crap available to America, but because somebody's realized that the average American is such a good little gullible patriot that they won't question it and will just carry on buying gas for their SUV's. Nobody questions it. Nobody cares. Nobody does anything about it.
But OMGzu!!1!11! Looku! Looku! Trainu wreku!!11! Ees s0 berry, berry s4du lollersaurusu!!11!111111 sendu in teh aidu!!111! F4 F4 F4 F4u!!11!!!!!
You've read the "how to win any argument" article, I see.
Have you boozed up, then?
I'm not even coming close to trying to "quantify" death and your suggesting I am is a direct result of you not understanding a thing I've said. Do I need to recap in even simpler terms, then?
Okay.
1.) By giving this "news" any weight, you're letting yourself be led away from the big picture.
2.) Bush is on the verge of being reelected, but this wreck in Korea is what matters to the average American.
3.) Three-thousand, two-thousand, ten-thousand: it's still just a drop in the vast bucket of lives there are lying around, waiting to be blown up.
4.) It doesn't matter.
5.) Look outside at the sky, take a walk, breathe the air, enjoy the life you've got to live. Even if it's raining and you feel like crapping on me for suggesting such a moronic thing because--OMGz, how could I miss the rain falling on your head?--just go out there and realize that you've got a life to live.
6.) The dog may bark, but the caravan just keeps on going.
Wolf Kahler, don't post in any thread I start again. Ever.
Might I once again remind you that this was not a terrorist attack. The World Trade Center was. The Koreans aren't going to go to war over this because the train disaster was not an intentional event. The World Trade Center was. How you connect the two events (besides them both involving fuel), is beyond me. It's an uninformed, ignorant attempt to yet again bring it around to involve Bush, because it sure never gets old talking about him!!!!!1111
This isn't "another" attempt to get Bush elected for another term! If you actually bothered to read the news reports, you'd notice that THEY CAME FROM NORTH KOREA! Are you saying that Hollywood can reach that far?! On top of that, news stations in the States weren't giving this disaster much of any coverage, because they had so little to report! In fact, if it weren't for someone else making a post on another forum about this, I would still not know of it! Although, unless it actually happens to you, you don't care, do you Wolf?
What exactly don't you understand? Why must you bring your drivel to this thread that was only intended to inform people of a terrible tragedy?
As it was said by another, make a post in the Discussion forum to spread your conspiracy theories - don't post them here.
If a mod would please lock this topic... the purpose of this thread has been served (to inform), and it's just going downhill now.

There was some miss reporting going on here, only 52 people died, while a couple thousand were injured, though injured dosen't neccessarily mean they are missing arms or legs. I could just mean they have a few cuts... But anyway, shame onto anybody who tried to get terrorism or WTC or any of that stuff dragged into this, there is no relation what-so-ever. This thread is about a train crash and we are talking about a train crash...
Dynamite eh? Alot of destruction for some dynamite...
Yes, the reports have shown that it's only 56 (so far - they say it could get greater as more are found) and 1,300 injured. The 3,000 casualty count was the initial estimate.
Not sure about the dynamite - the initial reports I read said both were filled with fuels - the words used were gasoline and liquified petroluem gas (which both just sound like gasoline, hehe).

You can't quantify death any more than you can quantify love. And if you want to discuss either, do it in the discussion forum.

But still, you didn't get the point anyway.
It's nothing about a conspiracy and it's nothing about a terrorist attack.
It's about what people--individuals--feel is important.
And since you don't feel it is important, you don't have to post in the topic.
Mod, please, close this thread.
