if you think about it, a bayonette would be pretty useful on an SMG. SMG's are meant for close combat, as are bayonettes. For the same reason, a scope would be redundant though. Lets not just add random stuff to the gun because it looks good, it's gotta have a purpose

Dont post something here that doesnt even look like his guys gun, Yours isnt even based on his gun, its doesnt have a high body, no scope, no bayonette or anything?
Go make ur own thread with ur concepts in, if you really need to post your work...
Ps. btw, your weapon would be a disaster to use! For once, the front of it seems too heavy, with that big bulky thingy, and you wouldnt be able to aim with it!
And why is the ammo showing through the magazine? That would be horrible of someone hit it, "BOOM" and ur whole clip is destroyed!
Thats how u're realistic, draw weapons outta their function, not their looks!
hmm..yeah.. absolutely unfunctional... it looks like you dont even know how high cap magazines work... theres a reason why they called c.mags. hmm... what do you want to get with that charging handle.. the way it travels backwards does not even move the receiver far back enough to pull out the round, eject it, and shove the next in... even then the receiver have to be much longer to the front, so it have to travel much more to the back... the fireselector isnt very practical... move the savety more to the front, and implement the fire selector there.. or let it completly away.. the aug77 does not need a fire selector... pull the trigger to the half till you feel a light resistance is single fire... pull it completly gives you very nice controllable full auto or burst.. the magazine eject lever sucks too... it always requires a second hand to eject a magazine.. but your second hand should already get a new one out of a pouch. make the lever so you can reach him with your index finger. lots of weapons have this feature. btw magazine... a magazine got a spring build in... a long spring, that pushes the ammo sled against the rounds, and rounds are pushing against the magazine clamps, and stop..from there only the receiver can shove the bullets outside of the mag..but halt! your magazines dont have openings on the front.. hmm .. on your drawings the ammo gets magically transfered into the receiver.. and some magical force prevents the bullets to popp out of the mag, because it got no holding clamps for the ammo ...and giving it some name..and seburo as manufacturer..haarr... a sin.. you should get slapped with a wet nodle to death... i should print it out and hang it up in our office.. i bet it makes a funny caricature.. a nice way to honor your work. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ya' know....before it was even said...back when i was doing tha internal view for tha mag, i was thinking that...and it was **** me off, because if i put a suitably large spring in there, there'd be no room for ammo....so then i remembered that tha TSA uses nannomachines to make stuff....so i thought "if they can use nannomachines to create stuff, why not use them to push tha ammo slead up....i know it's thin, but at least i thought about tha problem, instead of just saying "meh", and not giving a crap.....not only because i want accuracy, but because i KNEW you'd bring that up..lol...
Then you'd be wrong....while i'm drawing them, all i DO is think about functionality...why?...because sometimes i build prototypes of these things sometimes in airsoft or paintball (not tha same as tha real thing, i know), or in 8mm blank-fire...if they were totally crap designs, i'd not be able to build anything..
i used to have a wicked Paintball mockup of the LIAC-04/A1....it did full auto at 18 RPS...pretty fast for a paintball gun.....that gun's internals were based off a paintball gun, because i knew exactly what i wanted to do with it while i was designing it.....

i have no interest in "making it better"....it's a proven design, so i don't wanna screw with it..
the seperate fire mode selector is for a few reasons...because i like it....and secondly, because the number of options available wouldn't have been possible to build into a fire-select module like that..not to mention have it be familliar from an ambidexterous standpoint....a seperate fire select makes things easier for the weapon operator...
Perhaps the PLACEMENT of the safety was a little bad, i'll admit to that...but i thought it'd be alright, becuase it could more than likely be toggled with your thumb, or middle finger...leaving your index finger free to remain on the trigger....
<span style='color:orange'>u said that</span>
(from now on mentioned as note alpha)No, you did, when you accused me of designing yet another unfunctional gun...some features are based on proven designs, so it really boggles the mind how you can say they'd not be functional in this application...::Shrug::

Now that you mention it, yed, i did forget to mention the FA-MAS...it has a very similar charging handle assembly..at least visibly, from tha outside...so does the Uzi, scorpion, and every other UZI ripoff...i just listed the guns i used as direct references durring the CAPIWS(should really be shortened to just CIWS, because "All Purpose" is kinda vague, and rather redundant) residign process...(MA5B-AR, H&K UMP, H&K MP5, Seburo MN-23)...2 of tha guns i used for reference aren't even real weapons...one's from a game(Halo: Combat Evolved), and one's from an Anime (Dominion: Conflict)...perhaps you would be willing to critique the 2 fictional weapons i referenced?...i'm sure you could find plenty wrong with them...Anime is nortious for having fantasticly cool weapons that would probably NEVER work in real life....

I admit, tha charging handle was an astetic decision....still functional, but just a simple screw, like that on the Mac10, or most paintball guns just wouldn't have looked as cool....and tha recoil thing?...not an issue, as tha handle on the outside is not in constant linkage to tha intenal mechanism...when you pull it back, it pulls the mechanism, but when you release it, it returns to it's orginal position, leaving the internals free to move, seperate from tha external handle...

Thats not the point.. The point is that his weapon has a bayonette, therefore its a part of his concept, a redraw of his concept would therefore include a bayonette, but perhaps you're not good enough to draw a bayonette? ^^

for a change i gotta agree with him, about the SMG thingy, and the "purpose" thingy, to a grade at least.. But thats still not the god damn point! IF u're a realist Acid-Snake, then dont redraw his weapon, because you cant!
Dont post something here that doesnt even look like his guys gun,
Yours isnt even based on his gun, its doesnt have a high body, no scope, no bayonette or anything?
Go make ur own thread with ur concepts in, if you really need to post your work...
Ps. btw, your weapon would be a disaster to use! For once, the front of it seems too heavy, with that big bulky thingy, and you wouldnt be able to aim with it!
And why is the ammo showing through the magazine? That would be horrible of someone hit it, "BOOM" and ur whole clip is destroyed!
Thats how u're realistic, draw weapons outta their function, not their looks!
it looks like you dont even know how high cap magazines work... theres a reason why they called c.mags.
hmm... what do you want to get with that charging handle.. the way it travels backwards does not even move the receiver far back enough to pull out the round, eject it, and shove the next in... even then the receiver have to be much longer to the front, so it have to travel much more to the back...
the fireselector isnt very practical... move the savety more to the front, and implement the fire selector there.. or let it completly away.. the aug77 does not need a fire selector... pull the trigger to the half till you feel a light resistance is single fire... pull it completly gives you very nice controllable full auto or burst..
the magazine eject lever sucks too... it always requires a second hand to eject a magazine.. but your second hand should already get a new one out of a pouch.
make the lever so you can reach him with your index finger. lots of weapons have this feature. btw magazine... a magazine got a spring build in... a long spring, that pushes the ammo sled against the rounds, and rounds are pushing against the magazine clamps, and stop..from there only the receiver can shove the bullets outside of the mag..but halt! your magazines dont have openings on the front.. hmm .. on your drawings the ammo gets magically transfered into the receiver.. and some magical force prevents the bullets to popp out of the mag, because it got no holding clamps for the ammo
...and giving it some name..and seburo as manufacturer..haarr... a sin.. you should get slapped with a wet nodle to death...
i should print it out and hang it up in our office.. i bet it makes a funny caricature..
a nice way to honor your work. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

1 word. Nanites.
<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
what about fusion assistance? or.. hoverin without flapping? ... does not make sense either.
nanites cant do everything... what they basicly should do is just 1 thing . moving/manipulating molecules and even single atoms, to create structures on molecular or submolecular base...(basicly spoken...tiiiiiiiiny micromachines or call them robots wich playin with atoms lego) it have to take the matter that they have to manipulate from somewhere... next point is... you will need billions and billions of nanites to get the work fast done.. nanites cant work alone... it would take to long to get anything done... a nanite cant even move fast, when you look closer at a nanite it moves incredibly fast, but for our scale its helluva slow.. it would need to have a engine to move around..a engine faster than everything we know, but even then its low from our perspective.. it would have to be able to crawl over surfaces (from its view its not a flat surface..the flattest surface got under the microscope canyons and mountains bigger than everything.. and it have to be able to travel trough the air..hell imagine this.. from its view it have to crawl trough a huge mass of o2 molecules... what we breath is for a nanite somethin like a whoa stoneshower...... and then think what happen when theres a light wind blowing.. omg.. a nanite would never reach its target .... when every nanite could move 1 atom or molecule, or more. even when 1 nanite could move millions of molecules or atoms to their destination at once, they would be so much that the nanites alone will look like a solid body..or liquid...
nanites are very theoretical but one thing is sure... they will need almost the same space as the base matter they have to manipulate. and they are dumb, they cant work completly autonomous. they will need a controller , a mechanism whos telling them where every single part have to be placed..like anorganic dna
other point would be to create nanites who will connect themselfs to solid structures.. but this tiny fellows would get damaged by electrical discharges.. makes your weapon go poof when your body is static loaded , or the nanite controlling computer gets damaged <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

and i guess weapons like tha FN-P90, MA5B, and anything else that's not an M16 would be a heavy disaster <span style='color:orange'>yeah,,because the enemy could spot your magazine, and snipe it off your weapon</span> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
christ, is strupid crap like this that made me leave last time ....do you tossers REALLY want me gone THAT badly? <span style='color:orange'>you said that</span>
Well, it seems like it...

Seems like it...because i've not heard one kind thing from you...not a single "hey, that's kinda cool", or "Not bad"...just constant derision, and bashing....that's not cool...if i REALLY felt like being a ****, i could go whip out tha old drawing pad, and do a freakin' pencil sketch of this weapon's internals...but i'm not going to....because i really don't care enough to do so...i know it'd work, and if u don't see it that way, well, then that's your problem...i'd apprciate it if u weren't so coarse about such matters next time....
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>thx</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Your welcome....and i give credit where it's due, you are VERY good at what you do...
i appreciate that you take tha time to actually look at my designs....i look up to some of tha work you and posiden do, it's pretty cool...but if you can't be nice about this stuff, then please just ignore that i even draw things....
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>hmmm this says someone who cant handle some facts, and wants to learn somethin new</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I can handle facts....it's your version of them i can't deal with...and i have no problems with learning....the question is: "Do you have anything to teach me"?
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>does not look seburo to me... way to unergonomic.. and seburo builds bullpups and toploaders, only the sniper rifles have regular magazines sometimes</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I kinda thought it looked like a Seburo gun..::shrug::...and it doesn't look unergonomic at all...at least i don't believe so...besides, things get smoothed out a lot durring tha modeling process....(christ, i swear, if i was a small child, i'd be crying by now...as it is i'm just really bummed out <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>then your spring is way to small..the compressed spring takes aprox 10-20% of the magazine space inside,even the pusher sled is as big as 3 rounds</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
ya' know....before it was even said...back when i was doing tha internal view for tha mag, i was thinking that...and it was **** me off, because if i put a suitably large spring in there, there'd be no room for ammo....so then i remembered that tha TSA uses nannomachines to make stuff....so i thought "if they can use nannomachines to create stuff, why not use them to push tha ammo slead up....i know it's thin, but at least i thought about tha problem, instead of just saying "meh", and not giving a crap.....not only because i want accuracy, but because i KNEW you'd bring that up..lol...
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>yeah......</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Then you'd be wrong....while i'm drawing them, all i DO is think about functionality...why?...because sometimes i build prototypes of these things sometimes in airsoft or paintball (not tha same as tha real thing, i know), or in 8mm blank-fire...if they were totally crap designs, i'd not be able to build anything..
i used to have a wicked Paintball mockup of the LIAC-04/A1....it did full auto at 18 RPS...pretty fast for a paintball gun.....that gun's internals were based off a paintball gun, because i knew exactly what i wanted to do with it while i was designing it.....
sadly, my autocannon got trashed in a game...BUT i'll be building a new one soon.....so lemme know if ur interested, and i'll make sure you get pics...
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>so?what about makin it better? and when its like the p90 one..why you have done a seperate fire mode selector..the p90 got the selector build in into the safetyswitch...and the handle on the p90 is way more slanted, this enables you to reach the safety easy... not on yours.. looks like you gotta get a hurting index finger </span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
i have no interest in "making it better"....it's a proven design, so i don't wanna screw with it..
the seperate fire mode selector is for a few reasons...because i like it....and secondly, because the number of options available wouldn't have been possible to build into a fire-select module like that..not to mention have it be familliar from an ambidexterous standpoint....a seperate fire select makes things easier for the weapon operator...
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>now im curious why you havent named the famas .. the famas is a bullpup..and the ingram mac10 a machine pistol :pyou better should have named the hk xm8</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>you said that.. ive said it wont work on your gun..</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>you can do an upper cocking handle,but this requires some more space..and you eliminate lots of space with your overhuge loading handle..btw.. the mac10 is a 9mm machinepistol... firing very tiny 9mm rounds.. the receiver on that pistol dont have to move around alot..plus when the mac10 would have such a uhm..funny loading handle it would not work either... the loading handle would be blocked by the sights of the mac10 before you even could load a round und...plus the recoil would be much harder on the mac10 because the receiver moves this huge bulky stuff on top around.. guess why the loading handle on the mac10 is just a big screw <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--></span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>so let me now explain it for you because im not here to **** you off(maybe my strange writings let you think that) a drum mag, or c mag is just a magazine that is bent to the side, till it forms a "c" this kind of magazine dont have a regular magazine spring build in . it got a wheel inside, with a some ammo dummys made of plastic fixed to it .. the wheel itself is connected to a spring, when you have a empty c mag you can see the plastic dummys of the rounds inside the mag,pushed out by the spring in the center wheel. when you load the cmag, you push the plastic rounds inside , and the wheel starts to spin because the dummys are connected to it. when you continue to load the magazine, the wheel stretches the spring inside, heres a nice picture of a transparent beta c mag </span> <a href='http://www.army-technology.com/contractor_images/beta/ammunition3.jpg' target='_blank'>drum magazine</a><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Thank you Sheena....that's tha first helpful thing you've said to me...i appreciate it...i assumed the function was something similar to that...i imagined somethign along the lines of a crank/spring-type thing...with maybe some kind of petal assembly that would keep pressure on everything, and as you used rounds, it would rotate, to cycle more up into the feed section....i just couldn't draw it in, due to pixel space being tight, and tha fact that it would have been VERY ugly, had i actually tried...i also toyed with tha nannomachine idea...this IS science fiction, after all ::Shrug::

How so?...clear polymer internal shell, with metal exterior shell...tha ammo is still protected, and there is a window, so in case the counter is damaged, you can see how much ammo you have left...
the gun uses a primarily chip-controlled firing system....but it can work mechanically as well, in the event that tha fancy fire control hardware is damaged.....all it takes is a simple field modification, involving a pin, and a linkage between tha trigger, and firing assembly...
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><span style='color:orange'>yeah,,because the enemy could spot your magazine, and snipe it off your weapon</span><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
same could be said for tha M16, AK-47, Diemaco C7, just about ANY H&K assault rifle, or submachinegun.....or any other gun that has a mag that hangs out of tha bottom of tha gun....so this point, i just take as a needless jab...because it;s true of recognized and accepted mainstream designs, and i don't see you pointing it out to them...
