<div class="IPBDescription">WTH is this thing?</div> this pictures original size was 1600x1200, so I sized it down a bit...BUT WTH!!!!

Is this even real? I got this in an email from my dad and holy mother of god....if that thing is real, I'll have nightmares for the rest of my life...

    It's probably extremely intelligent. Could even be playful, like some tarantulas are.

    Could also kill you with one bite, maybe... Dunno that species.

    Its none of those things.

    I saw the picture in reference to a AOL article: Its the spider that causes the "Baghdad Boil". AKA, a large, unpainful-uncontagious boil that is just unsightly as heck, and leaves scars once its gone. Can be put out by spiders, or by a mosquito like bug.

    So it's really one spider being held up with another hanging from its rear end by its mandibles?

    Why the feck is that guy's face so close to it? There's not enough military trainign in the world to take my fear of spiders out of me. I will freak out if any spider is within a radius of 5 feet of me, and if it is out of that radius, I will make damn sure it stays out of that radius.

    It's not that big!!!! It just looks huge because of the soldier standing in the background. Look at it in relation to the cuff of the soldiers sleeve. It also looks huge because the camerman has taken the photo very close up. Not so big when you compare it to the soldiers sleve space.

    and the size would probably be about... well, get your hand, and lay it flat on the table. now, you know the knuckled you bend your fingers at to make a fist? go one up, so your fingers are bent in half, and tuck the end of your fingers away... [i.e bend 2nd knuckle away from your palm, into your hand], and lay flat on table. that would be the height. width would be probably twice as wide, but the legs elongate a lot.

    nothing really scary about it... its sort of cool, i guess, hehe

    theyre wind scorpions.. i used to read about them all the time. they live in deserts, their way of hunting is to run over sand, usually really fast. ,even faster when its very windy and then catch their prey, which was generally birds and mice. theres 2 there so i guess one caught the other and tried to eat it, or maybe a mating season time. its also called the sun spider

    Even comparing the size to the size of the guys jacket cuffs makes it freaking huge, also note how hes holding it with a pair of pliers, remember kids, military training does not make you immune to insects.
