Here's the computer I plan on ordering tonight. I plan to order from <a href='http://www.cyberpowerinc.com' target='_blank'>CyberPower</a>, getting a great deal too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->. I'll post NewEgg links so you can see product info though, as cyber power is somewhat nodescript. Critique it please...

All for $1539 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->. If you price it out on NewEgg it is $120 more than that, and they will build it for me.

Hey, you could save yourself a few bucks, get the 9800 Pro and convert it to a 9800 XT.
Curses, I just saw an article on how to do that the other day....
Google it, I bet it'll be worth it.
Oh, and hey, for installing XP onto an SATA drive, check out this link:

Imo dont get a 9800xt. The performance over the 9800pro isnt much and i think it could save you some money. Also i wouldnt suggest norton for ur Anti virus but if u have no problem with them then go for it. And i dont know if a amd 64 is worth it. No game uses the technology. Why pay for it when it could be a year before the first game uses it. Id wait till its the price of current cpus. Other then that nice rig.

Just wait until summer when all the new flagship products get launched and the last gen hardware price drops kick in. There should be some pretty sweet deals in the coming months since not only will new video cards and such be released, but also BTX form factor cases/motherboards/PSUs and PCI Express hardware is coming out.

Because the Athlon 64's also excell at 32 bit computing, I'm getting a great deal on it, and I'll be ready for it when it does come.

DirectX 9.0c is supposed to have 64-bit support. As for whether that means non-64 bit DX9 games will have improved performance on a Athlon64 or if its something that would have to be developed on a per-game basis, I don't know. Although it seems like it would speed up performance for non-64 bit DX games since otherwise it dosen't make much sense.

    Looks like a beast!
I like your motherboard choice, because personally I'm very baised to Asus.

While we are all in here, anybody know much about the asus radeon 9800 pros? I found a good deal on one, it's got the free hl2 and 256 mb ram on it, and all it's specs are up there with the xts and such, but it goes for about 100$ less. What do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure Far Cry takes some sort of advantage of AMD64 chips. A friend of mine has an A64 laptop with 64mb 9600 mobility graphics, and setup defaulted his settings higher than mine (AthlonXP 2.28ghz 9800pro).
