I would recommend the Sapphire Radeon 9600XT. From the benchmarks I've seen its comparable to a 9800XT in many current games, but costs much less (Current average price: $150). The model from Sapphire is supposed to be all heatsink... no fans... no noise.
But yeah... its 2004, welcome to the world of AGP.
Unfortunately, none are really available for it NOW, which is why you want that AGP slot still.
What's your budget range? Apparently you can get an ATi R9800 Pro for about $200 or so, which is a killer card. Second-fastest on the market... only surpassed by the R9800XT by a slim margin. Leaves nVidia POSen in the dust, both framerate-wise, and image-qualitywise. ^_^ (read: ATi doesn't have to cheat and lower color calculations without letting the user turn it off, to be fast. As nVidia does on the FX line on ANY new game, including Doom3. Only reason it's 'faster' there. At full color calc, the 9800... hell, the 9700 smokes the crap out of the FX5950 Ultra, at almost triple the framerates.)
