Flash intro/site redesign

<div class="IPBDescription">Going to be changed?</div>Hey, I remember a while back some guy was mentioning that there were a few SC sounds in the flash intro to the site, and was concerned about copyright issues.  The team said that they'd probably be replacing the intro as they got closer to release.  Is that still the plan, or did you guys decide against it for some reason?

And on a related note, the progress report on the front page mentions:

<i>Website: 92% done
New website designed, need to update screenshots section. New ISP chosen, initiating move.</i>

Will there be a totally new website coming slightly before launch, or was that just in reference to the behind-the-scenes server change, the recent faq change, and stuff like that?

little behind the times...  They changed over to the new ISP, they couldn't handle the site, so they leased their own server.

I also believe that they will, eventually, get a new flash intro, but understandibly, the release is much more important.

We do have new flash planned, and a lot of it is done, but we're not sure when we'll release it.  We're hoping to unveil the new site around the release, but we can't promise.

i don't really care, i mean it'll be nice but i thinkt he release should get the priority, i mean after the release is done and all, sure why not but why delay at all ^_^

I agree with necro. After the adrenanline rush that getting NS and playing it wears down a bit, it'd be nice to come to a brand spankin new site. But from the looks of it, release seems to be up at the top o' the list.

oh well, all I hope is that the links at the top of the page are no longer flash (thus we don't have to wait for em to load, ech)

While of course, the release of the game is the most important part, a good updated site will be nice too. It would help present the mod better to people who do not know much about it yet and thus hopefully mean more players/servers.

I know I'm having a hard time trying to sell this mod to my friends (by sell I mean get them hooked, not profit <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->)
Many of them do not have the patience to go and read through the forums and such and see the cool stories and things people say about the game. Ah well, once they see it in action....

I know theres not much for updated shots of the commander view (a few in the SS section) and that gameplay movie was released forever ago. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

well there is going to be the manual release and there is at least thoughts/plans for a trailer to be released

what i meant was when someone has time to upload it (eg. after the PR blitz or when their not working on code (eg. after the release is out)), so then NS wouldn't be delayed and the dev's wouldnt have a mob after them <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
