Right click your config.cfg file in your nsp/ directory > properties > untick read only.

Or just enter your binds in the file itself using a plain text editor such as notepad.

Maybe you should take another look at th0r0n's post. And while you are at it, look at my sig as well.

If you bind out impulses in-game, they won't "stick" in the autoexec.cfg unless you quit/exit out or hit escape and quit regularly. Crashing out or ending the process prematurly will erase any changes you made to your config.

Or you could make a userconfig.cfg in your directory, put any custom stuff you're binding in there, and stuffyou.

Remove "unbindall" from the start of config.cfg ?

As th0r0n said, many people's config.cfg is read-only. If yours is set as read-only, changes made in-game will not "stick" because hl.exe won't be able to update your config.cfg (since it's read-only).

If you un-check read-only, you (and HL) will be able to overwrite your config file and save the changes properly.

if you kick out your pc (maybe through the steam-ns error - crashing on disconnect / quit (<= reinstall will fix it)), the system won't save it in the autoexec.cfg. i suggest that you make a userconfig.cfg und run it from autoexec.cfg with

    exec userconfig.cfg

better than that are only per-race configs (alien.cfg, rine.cfg)

Just found out, unmarking it as read only will still cause halflife to not save changes :<

only thing you can do really is to create/edit a file called userconfig.cfg in the same directory and put all of your impulses/aliases/shiznit in there.

Completely pointless step. Userconfig.cfg and config.cfg are executed automatically when you start ns. Autoexec.cfg is from before steam.

    .cfg files won't run themselfs.

Maybe steam runs userconfig.cfg by default, too -

but why the hell there is the command "exec userconfig.cfg" in the autoexec.cfg? hu?
