"Sorry, that was a little rash of me." *Speeds up to catch up with Finrod.* "What did you mean that it 'was my own fault' then?"
"Long story, but I guess I have a long time to tell it. You might have noticed I'm quite fond of technology. That kind of started back in school. Me and a few of my mates spend a lot of time fixing some bikes with different expansions. I'm not sure it was quite legal to boost them that far, but that's beside the point."
"Well. Once we finished school, we started splitting up. Most of them just followed up on our little project and started mechanic shops or went on to design vehicles, that kind of work. I started working with security for some large company. Point of it all is, I kind of forgot about them. In fact, I started forgetting about everyone else. Did my job too well you know, ended up making all the other security people obsolete. That's why I came here, I had sort of kicked everyone else out of my life because of it".
*For some reason, Finrod keeps a few steps in front of Calawen, as if to prevent her from seeing his face*
"Not quite legal, eh? So you don't mind bending the rules when it suits you?" *Laggs behind Finrod listerning to his words.* "Me and you have alot in common. We both excel in our fields. I hope we'll make a good team."
Calawen sees a small blur of something just above room temperature drop down from the ceiling onto Finrod on the Infrared segment of her occular bio-implants.
Finrod feels a tiny prick in his neck.
OOC: Ah, have I arrived at the security room yet, with Dr St Clair? Been waiting for a DM trigger
You tug on the door, and it opens just a tiny bit. An odd, sickly-sweet odour hits you, contrasting sharply with the sterile scent around you before.
You yank it again, and soon you see the cause of the stench.
The entire room is filled with mutilated and mangled human corpses. Blood is splattered all over the walls, floor, ceiling, furniture and equipment. Blades and blunt objects are covered in gore.
<Dr. St. Clair> You'll have t-to pardon this. I s-seem to h-have forgotten t-to clean up my m-mess.
*Valin takes a step back, raising an eyebrow reflexively.* "That's your security room, eh? I imagine that our time here at this facility will be very...interesting. I hope you'll see to this, Doctor."
Small, almost leech-like organisms start pouring out of the bloated corpses. They go around Dr. St. Clair, and begin to slowly inch their way towards you. Dr. St. Clair wordlessly yanks a broken pipe out of the chest of a nearby body, and then looks at you.
Hmm...maybe it's not a bad idea, Mantrid, if you used either xect's method (addressing the person before the DM text) or Epoch/Dea's method of putting the text in the player's colour. Seems effective to clear up confusion.
*Valin looks at the organisms with barely-concealed disgust, and takes a step back.* "You know what these are?"
Dr. St. Clair swings the broken pipe at you, and hits your left arm. Your arm drops to your side, brushing against the pistol holstered to your hip.
Epoch/Xect
Finrod feels normal for a second, then suddenly feels a sharp, searing pain in the back of his neck. The neck of his shirt is quickly drenched in blood.
Wow, things are really starting to go belly-up. Fun
"What the...!?" *Valin grunts in pain as the pipe smashes into his arm, then quickly tries to bring his sidearm out of his holster with his left hand, while fending off any fresh attacks with his right hand.* "Hit me, would you?" *He lines his gun up with Dr St Clair's head, and double-taps to send two bullets hurtling towards the doctor's head.*
Oh yeah, I forgot - do we have any radios or means of voice communication?
Yes, you have radios. I'll give you guys that much
Parehelion
The bullets hit Dr. St. Clair, and his head is blown open. You watch in horror as one of the leech-like organisms crawls out, and explodes, splashing fluid all over the wound. The fluid solidifies, filling in the wound, although the flesh is more pale and translucent. He raises the pipe above his head again.
Epoch/Xect
Finrod moves into a shaft of light, and you (Calawen) see a large, slimy, creature that resembles a leech attached to Finrod's spine. It appears to be attempting to boar its way in to him.
You (Finrod) claw at the creature, but the pain is almost overwhelming. You manage to subdue its "digging".
*Valin is taken aback by this new development, but recovers swiftly. He raises the gun again and fires at the head, then the body, until his clip runs out. Then, doing his best to avoid any incoming bits of broken pipe, he whips out another magazine of ammunition and reloads his sidearm.* "Hey, Finrod, you there? The doctor's infested with some sort of parasitic organism. You and anyone else on the air, watch out." *He waits with narrowed eyes, watching for any change to Dr St Clair's body.*
The Doctor's body gurgles, and topples. You watch as his clothing, and then flesh, is ripped apart by about ten of the organisms. They wriggle on the floor, and start inching their way towards you.
*Calawen pulls out her radio and speaks into it.* "Finrod was bitten be something. He's covered in blo..." *She then looks up at leech in Finrods back.* "Oh my God! Fin, you alright?" *Calawen pulls out her knife from inside her trench coat.* "I'll get it out!" *She approaches him cautiously and using the knife like a spoon tries to gouge the leech out of his body.* "This may hurt, hold still."
You plunge the knife into the leech. It emits a low "scream", and then bursts open. The fluid rushes over Finrod's wound, and quickly heals it, though the replaced flesh is pale and translucent.
The scream echoes in the hallways.
Soon, a distant sound much like something scratching metal is heard.
"I think that did it. You owe me." *Looks at the scar tissue that has formed on his neck.* "How do you feel?" *Hears the sound growing closer.* "Tell me later. Lets get out of here." *Speaks into her radio.* "Valin lets meet back up the canteen." *She slides the radio away into an outer trench coat pocket and silently speaks to herself.* "This place is starting to scare me." *Then she starts heading back to the canteen at a light jog. The corridors a blue blur as her heat sensitive eyes sweep ahead of her.*
*Calawen is slightly ahead of Finrod jogging towards the canteen. She turns to him without breaking stride.* "I saved your life from that parasite. Feel free to thank me."
“I have ocular and aural implants. I saw some bug drop onto your neck start to burrow. I tried to scoop it out with my knife and ended up popping it. The ‘leech’ bust open and healed your neck with that scar tissue. So are you gonna thank me or not?”

Finrod feels a tiny prick in his neck.
