    <b>Umbraed Monkey</b> - You can't make a particle curve unless it's with gravity which means it would arc towards the floor always. You could make it go spastic within a given area, zig zaging back and forth and all over the place but it would look kind of strange..

    <b>Mouse</b> : Well, because of a problem with my computer when I quit out of NS it crashes my system and I'm currently downloading a big file (I mentioned this in another thread) so I can't test anything that I do with this map (or with my main project) and especially with the way particle systems need to be tweaked, I didn't see much point working on it until I finish the download and don't have to worry about corrupting my download.. Unfortunately the download wont be finished until wednesday/thursday... don't think I'm slacking off on this - I want this map released as much as you guys.. I can't even play NS or any online game because of the bandwidth usage (not to mention my system dies when I quit ns)...

    If you want to take a stab at doing the dust, fog and haze systems - I'd be most appreciative..then when you are finished you could email them to me and I'll put them into the current map file. If you want to make custom sprites that would be good too cause the ns ones are quite limited. Feel free to add in some sort of signature which I'll include in the main room (make a wad with the tex)..

    <b>All</b> : I had an idea for a system which I'm gonna include in the "for fun" area. It wouldn't be practical in a real map but it'll look cool. Going to have 20 odd trigger entities (presence or just normal - haven't been able to test <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) in a hallway and as the player passes through one it will kick up dust behind him... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I'm going to make this map an open submission thing. It'll be like the NS community showing eachother what we can do. I can't do this by myself - I just don't have the time to do all the testing of all the particle system. So here's what we'll do:

    Particle System submissions can be emailed to me. Before you email them to me, send me a PM saying the nature of the system (ie Waterfall, fountain, fire etc). If it is a particle system that I don't have in the map already (or hasn't been submitted by someone else) I'll give you my email and you can email me the stuff in a zip.

    The zip should contain:
    - The compiled .BSP
    - The MAP file
    - Any textures/sprites you've used/made
    - Who you are (handle for credits) and what the particle system is/does.

    Sounds simple? well get cracking!

    i suggest a scrolling text texture with author's name, particle info etc next to the system itself in each booth....

    This would be super cool! Definately would like to see this completed, if I could help I would (but my mapping knowledge can be summed up with creating and texutring basic brushes)

    Ummm... how'd it coming along? I don't think many of us know how to make anything more complicated then some steam bursting out of the pipe so the submission thing might now work too well. But please don't give up, I really want to see some of these effects.

    Agree.

    The only strange thing i succeeded to do with Particles System was a sudden cloud of bubbles (like those made with water and soap by children and a pipe) so i could not help.

    Yea 90% of the time when its white your missing the textures (but somethimes people use the white o.O)

    umm... I have no clue what it is, but to help I guess:

    It appears that every single brush in the rmf has been hollowed to something like 2 units. Don't do this for very obvious reasons. The only two textures I am seeing are "forcefield" and "vgeronline". No clue what those are from...

    One question though. Why does the game_text display "you got battery one" when the world_item has the ak47 models? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    This doesn't even appear to be a natural selection map...

    sooo... ya. I'm about as stumped as HanzGrub3r to what you want help with.
