the ONLY way this will really work is if you watercool the whole system, I mean cpu, and video card, and have 2+ 80mm fans to suck out any other heat generated from the motherboard.

The average computer case can be around 90-100 degrees if you're using standard cooling, that would be way too hot for the poor thing.

Doesn't look like from most of the photo's. You better make sure it is otherwise.....hamsters can fit through tiny gaps....and the teeth, electricity, Bzzzzt!.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    absolutly.

ive had hamsters before and they can get in/out of anywhere, one left his cage every night, went and ate things like potaotes, and went back to his cage before we woke up in the morning. no matter how hard we tried to seal his tank.

also that stuff that looks like silicon that you have used to glue/seal it all up with, hmmm, a hamster will chew through/dig up that no problems, you might want to rethink that a bit.

overall a cool idea, but hmmmm

the silicone is very toxic, I'm hoping if he decides to chew through it, he wont get very far

Meh just makes a seperate bit for your hamster to go to. It definitely mustn't go near the mobo unless you have a barrier to seperate them both. I suggest the hard plastic ones, they're pretty strong to withstand the heat generated.

BTW, I've noticed there's a hole in front of the tower case....That for the hamster as well? Looks like you can put a seperate cage there for alternate habitation space <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

BTW, careful with the silicon, your hamster will eat it, unless you happen to cover the silicon with something else.

maybe, but actually watching him climb out the tank and go eat stuff kinda tells me it was the hamster <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

it would be farely easy to keep the cage cool enough, just put a few fans right underneath the floor or the area and there you go. What I was thinking is wouldnt the noise perhaps make him mad after while? Then again I guess you could just get better fans etc. One last thing, make sure you have proper ventilation in the sealed off area (ex. a couple of little holes drilled for better air movement.). But besides that stuff it's a great idea. I remeber seeing a mod somwhere of a person who added a cage for their scorpian on their case. It was pretty cool.

laff, you obviously don't seem to care much about the lives of hamsters, so why do you want one running through your computer in the first place? :>
