Command Console Troubles

I'm new to NS (of course) and started playing yesterday. One thing was (and still is) bothering me; for some reason I can't use the command consoles. Neither could anyone on the server... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> Is there some kind of server-side option to disable command consoles? Or is something else going on?

    In COMBAT there is no commander. In NS, there should be no problem.
