Getting better in aiming
<div class="IPBDescription">This is what i do</div>I've gotten ALOT of e-mail from fellow viewers of GR and some people at NS... How to get better at aiming like I did? Well I myself have used a technique to get better and it REALLY showed a great difference... You can be pwning people with just a mp5 in no time!
1.We'll use our example with Counter-Strike, since it is most played. Aiming in other words is how fast you can kill you enemy... without your crosshair moving fast enough, you'll shoot at a wall instead of the desired target. Choose your mouse sensitivity... thats the upmost main step you have to do first... no exceptions, feel your desired Mouse sensitivity!!!
2.Now, setup controls to what you like of course... blah blah, you don't need to hear this right?
3.When you first play Counter-Strike, do not go STRAIGHT to the multiplayer game... go download a working bot (akimbot highly reccommended with these steps) Go create a Lan game... now, when you're in the game, bring down the console tab and type in 'observer 1' (without the qoutes) then addbots like crazy! (maximum player capacity of 14 is fine and put on friendly fire so you can kill your teammates and that they don't start killing your targets <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->)
4.After that, pick the weapon you want to get better at... and RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH! Observer 1 is to not let the bots see you, but they still can hurt you if you're between a crossfire.
5.Start aiming for the head, try shooting while running, do something that will make you aim bad like jumping... Its a good way to get a feel of how your enemy should die.
6.Next, try improving your reflexes, like when you think you know where the bots going... go over there and shoot IMMEDIATELY... don't wait and look at him for 3 seconds... that'll help when you're against a 2v1 or higher.
7.Next try sniping <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> ... Bots are hard to hit since they run around mad crazy! Its a sure way to hone your AWP/Scout skills with this technique.. I know it has to me.
8.Try all different kinds of weapons and pistols... its a sure way to get use to your unfavorite weapons... because all weapons has advantages and many disadvantages...
9.I added this just for my friend, BroadDecision. To practice on dodging bullets so that you don't get killed when you run out of ammo... on this one... you need to find a friend with good shooting skills, a bot can work, but their uber haxx0r skill may kill you in an instant <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> Now... ONLY USE PISTOLS on this one... Get that friend and tell him to start shooting... you will try dodging it by jumping/crouching/running/picking your nose/ or what ever you do to dodge bullets... Keep on doing it... I bet you'll start dodging more and more bullets as the round goes on... and after he runs out of ammo, try shooting him with your pistols... lets put an analogy to this training, Lets say you ran out of ammo with your primary, the guy starts shooting at you... you don't have time to reload, so you start dodging his attacks and you start taking out your pistol and kill him with your headshot... this is what this training's goal is <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
also... You have to know... that when you play a shooting game that isn't realistic (example: It takes 50 shots of you're rifle to one guy) You know you're gonna do good in realistic games with this... If you can aim with the first shot in, you practically win (like DoD, Firearms, etc..)

Another tip, this one is for cs (not applicablle for ns).
When you see a single enemy, dont rush the shots, stay cool and calm, crouch, and let him fire a few rounds, he will start shooting full auto for shure and miss almost all the shots, now you should fire single shots and make urself 100% they´ll hit him <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> But you cant take 10 secs to aim..... you must shoot at least once every 2 secs or you are dead
