<div class="IPBDescription">For my birthday. D:</div> Hi all,
I'm posting on the off chance anyone has any idea WTH is going on, as I'm stumped.
I've got myself a shiny new 9600 XT, and I go to install it, but every time it says 'The installation cannot be completed, please try to setup with a standard VGA adapter and try again'
<!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
So I do the 'google thing' and basically every other problem with it has been resolved by setting it up as a standard VFA (Just saying you'll choose the driver) GG, I think. However, when I try to do this, there's only the ATi options in the available drivers, so I can't.
*Cries*
Any suggestions peeps?
Before anyone makes the usual unhelpful (omz0r we need your system specs...)
Duron 1.3Ghz
512 RAM
Via chipset mobo.

ergh seems link there was out dated try <a href='http://drivers.driverheaven.net/misc.php?page=uninstall' target='_blank'>here</a> instead
EDIT:
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->1. Go into the Control Panel and under the ADD/REMOVE SOFTWARE icon uninstall the ATI MultiMedia software and/or the ATI DVD software. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I tried this step already, and I got 'Error Initialising' when clicking Add/Remove. I'll try the other steps, but I'm going to be a little stuck on that one.

may have to wipe it thru the leet program known as DOS prompt.
And I stayed with nVidia so long because people said I'd have trouble, and I so wanted ATi to prove them wrong.... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Did you remember to uninstall all the old nVidia drivers?
Apparently they can cause conflicts with the ATi ones....
