I find that the main problems only occur when the mod stops needing a download to play. Once TFC was attached to HL almost all the newbies played it first and newbies tend to attract llamas (no idea why).
If somone is just trying to ruin other peoples fun then they probably wont put too much effort in. NS will only start getting really bad if it gets put into the HL patch (unlikely) or goes retail (almost certain imo).

Yeah, come to think of it, CS only really got lame once it hit the retail shelves...

Valve has recently signed up DoD as an officially supported mod. It's dev team all got taken from their homes and put into one room together and they are now financially supported by Valve (I don't know to what extent)... DoD 4.0 will be seeing some reflections of Valves wishes, I can easily imagine a dire time when DoD hits the retail shelves in one form or another, and it scares me...

As for NS, we wont have any problems. Not for a while anyway. With all the PR it's getting, we'll be more popular than SI pretty quick (which is an awesome mod BTW, huge tech tree that unlocks new weapons as you go. Kinda like marines in NS I spose...), but less popular than DoD for a while.

    Hey you know what?

To heck with it. I reckon the next version becomes a private release, where only current members of these forums receive a copy! That'll keep the llamas out for sure, because none of them would have the patience to spend a month or more talking about something they cant ruin...
