Help someone please

When ever I restart my PC (win XP)

My internet works fine. Im on a DS9 connection (11 T1s networked)

However after about 5 min my internet goes to utter crap.

pages take FOREVER to load if at all, and I cant connect to chat programs etc.

Im the only one on thr network who is having these problems.

I dont have any viruses or anything either.
Anyone have any ideas?

How are you connected to the DS9? Surely it isn't plugged into the back of your computer.
If you mean a college connection, talk to the IT staff. Many colleges block certain ports.

If you haven't already, go to <a href='http://housecall.antivirus.com' target='_blank'>http://housecall.antivirus.com</a> and run their tool to be extra-sure you don't have a virus or malware on the system. Then run Adaware and Spybot search and destroy to get rid of crud like Gator or Bonzi Buddy.

If there's someone with a technical clue on the network, have them sniff for a chattering client, or a megalomaniac badly-configured Win2000 server. Run traceroutes and watch your latency to see where the bottleneck is. If it's upstream... oh well. Too bad, talk to the ISP. If it's lousy all the way to your machine, the hub/switch may need a kickover. Also, look at your NIC. Make sure it's linking at 100Mbit (assuming you have a 10/100) and not flickering back and forth.
Also, if you have anything Linksys in your network, or anything NOT Linksys in your Linksys network, that could be the problem. They're notoriously unfriendly for some reason to other manufacturers' equipment.

Yea, my college decided to block...pretty much all the gaming ports it could find. I can't even play Half-Life (steam or won), CoD...well, anything.

Sometimes colleges are just retarded and don't want you to do anything, because they think everyone's a computer illiterate that downloads viruses on purpose...or something.
