<div class="IPBDescription">argh</div> firstly, the specs.

AMD 2000+ 1.67
Geforce FX5200
2X60gig HS
512m DDR RAM
Windows XP pro
(all updated drivers)
512K DSL line (routed through LAN)

OK, here's the problem. a few nights ago, whilst playing on a 32 player conbat only server, NS crashed out on me. i thought nothing of it, considering 1. it's a beta and 2 it happens all the time. But after this crash, i try to go back into NS, and start to browse the servers. this is where the problem lies. nothing appears in the server list, and i get "could not contact master game server to retrieve server list". after repetitive attempts, i do the first thing all people using steam do: uninstall the lot and restart from scratch. both steam and the NS3.0 beta. i head back into NS, but alas: no luck, still same message. after all my attempts, i ahve turned to what i hope will be the people to answer my question :o

a bit more info. trying to connect to a server through the console, it hangs on "establishing network connection with server". then after a while, it'll keep on retrying. i ahve tried other servers (with varied maps, players, etc.). moreso, i had a few servers in my favourites, doubleclick on them brings up the connect window, but hitting refresh does nothing.

any ideas?

    can you play OTHER mods?

It sounds like a Steam issue to be honest.

Basicaly what it sounds like is that you can't connect to the Steam server...

Have you rebooted your computer a fewtimes during this entire debacle?

Did you PURGE steam from your system or just unistall (uninstalling honestly does very little to steam, it leaves behind ALOT of registry stuff <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

yes mate, i ahve restarted many a time. if ti's a steam problem, and i've uninstalled steam completely (even deleted the directory afterwards), then what other files would be lying about my HD?

    ehhhh

if you don't know what the registry is, don't touch it.

Look around this forum/google for a compleate unistaller for Steam (there is one out there, I don't know much about it)
