I'm not a very good commander. I've only commed around....8 games, and lost 5 of them. The other 3 I won through a combo of fortifying hive positions and involving lots of Heavy Trains...

Anyways.... I don't call myself a noob, but I've never known how to assign squadrons to marines...

So basically my question is...how do I assign squadrons to marines?

Plus, can there only be 2 squads or can I use 3?

    Select a marine or drag your mouse over a group of marines. Hold your CTRL key (default) and press one of your 1-5 number keys.

    You can then select all the members of a squad by clicking on the corresponding icon at the top of the commander hud.

    Good luck <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    For other commander practise, it helps if you're good with strategy games in general. There are quite a few similarities between NS and Warcraft 3, so you might look to WC3 for offline practise.

    Well, yes and no. For one thing, the warcraft series are all right click interface, whereas the C&C series are left click. There are also a lot of elements in NS that were... inspired by WC3.

    True, but if i remember correctly, in some of those games the interface is configurable.

    Also, try WOTR, war of the ring, it's based on the wc3 engine, lord of the rings.

    Not very good a game, but fun for a little while.

    You can use 5 squads, 5 being classed as "best". Note that you can also assign your Arms lab to a squad too, for that quick upgrade start.

    It is actually your JUMP key that asigns the squads; not necessarily CTRL.
