WOOHOO new scanner
I just got a new scanner so I've finally been able to work on some new art. Right, so I'm not done reinking and cleaning this beast yet but I decided to try a 10 minute monochrome color test to see how it looked. I'll be posting the final colored version in the Design your own NS alien thread. For now I'd like some feedback on what you guys think. Ohh and the actual drawing is only about 3 inches tall.

I really like the colour scheme and tones that you have used.
the actual design is really good, and alot more alien-like than alot of the skecthes Ive seen.

i'd say that you should try to remember that lots of spikes are mainly for defence. Porcupines have lots of spines, whereas lions have none (claws dont count, fool)
tbh, i think monochrome is a bad method, it doesnt give you effective enough control over what colours you're using, but i really like the lineart

Awesome picture, but I don't like the Color Scheme. It looks like something out of Diablo... or Diablo himself.

Thats pretty good, not sure about the colours though. It doesn't fit with the kharaa's natural tones.

I think the spikes are spines. Like the ones that Lerks have on their backs. They could be used to help detect motion or help control body heat.

Yeah I know buts it's just a few spines near the top arch of his back, so it's not like it's his main weapon in combat. Also I just went with monochrome because I'm not done tweaking the lineart and wanted something simply and quick to test it out with.
