Such a shame, such good potential. Now, unless aut2k3 turns out to be good ( and, I hope, resembles early ahl betas), there's no reason for me to reinstall ut2k3.

A true shame, but I can't say I didn't see it coming; I had been on the Opera R2 dev team (The self-titled "Redeemed Assaisins") for about two months and it was apparent while the leaders had all the heart in the world and really wanted to see this done, the team itself was just too disorganized and unmotivated to do so.

Yeah. This is why you never switch engines in mid-development because the other one "looks better'. I personally think they got what they deserved.

Interesting. Well, I hope they find some way to get a mod together - the world needs more free games.

It was far more stylish than the Specialists or AHL...I love the Specialists gameplay, but the Opera just had pure style.

Opera had its moments, so did AHL and so does TS, they all lack in one area where the other succeeds, if they could all be made into 1 mod <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Why am I not surprised? The Opera has always been the TF2 of the mod scene. Well, worse. The original showed potential, but had a few kinda serious glitches in it. But no, instead of patching it they've got to make a whole big thing out of it with all the bells and whistles. Then they've got to change engine. Meanwhile there's STILL only five servers at the most, with only their forum regulars on it.

I was really looking forward to this mod, for HL. With a little bit more work in making the game itself more solid, and some more work into getting servers up it could have realy got somewhere. But no, they had to try to do too much. Meh.
