Mon January 12, 2004 11:00 AM ET
BERLIN (Reuters) - German police are investigating after an angry man returned a computer he had just bought saying it was packed with small potatoes instead of computer parts.
The store replaced the computer free of charge but became suspicious when he returned a short time later with another potato-filled computer casing, police in the western city of Kaiserslautern said on Monday.
"The second time he said he didn't need a computer any more and asked for his money back in cash," a police spokesman said.
Police are now investigating the man for fraud.

They didn't find anything bizarre about some guy with potatoes in his computer? Hmmmm.
Come on people - this forum collects random stupid stuff like this and concentrates it in one spot. Think of how many billion people there are out there before having a good ol "humanity sucks" bash.

PC Salesman: Alrighty sir, here's your replacement PC!
Customer: And you're sure there are no potatoes in this one?
PC Salesman: Positively! But don't check here, take it home and try it out immediately!
Customer: Hmmm, that seems reasonable.
<i>Customer leaves...</i>
PC Salesman: ICH BIN EIN POTATO PUTER CROOKEN!!!!!! AAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Seriously... this PC store's extremely stupid.
But really how did the not realize that he was ripping them off in the first place. Or maybe Germany is still more messed up than we think.

Trust me, there are idiots who would try anything to make some cash all over the world.
Though, most stories I've read are about Americans <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->.
Though, there is some pretty funny German stuff out there, lets see...
This is a site hosted by a guy working at a PC store, who is responsible for customers who send in their computers if they have any technical difficulties (so he can fix them).
On this site he is posting pictures of poor computer parts (or entire systems) that have been sent in as shown on the pictures for repairs or returns.
This is my favourite:
