The idea of rewriting our history to suit ourselves is not in any way a new one. Those 5 examples could spark wars of themselves, I'm just showing it's not a modern era phenomenon.
It's life and it's marketing and money. It's everywhere, best advice to give is just to shut the hell up and deal with it because sadly, there is nothing you can do.

I'd also blame the deteriorating level of history being taught in schools these days. When you study military history, though you might not actually fight, you do come to emote very strongly with the men and women who died in the service of their respective countries.
Words fail me with regards to this particular piece of "advertising". It's just sick beyond words.

But there is such a thing as taste, and here in Australia at least, if an advertisement recieves sufficient complaints because people consider it in poor taste, it will get taken off the air. If I was to take a video of the Nazi concentration camp prisoners and then made it into an advertisement for a weight loss program, I reckon I'd get a couple of complaints (read: I'd be lynched, and rightly so). Taking an image which has a heck of a lot of strong emotional sentiments attached and turning it into a crass piece of commercialisation just isn't ethically or morally good.
Reminds me of that Family Guy quote: "Well sir whilst I do not agree with what you are saying I'll fight to the death to defend your right to say it"

But putting a game ontop of dead soldier's faces, printing it in an advertisment for a strategy guide and then selling it... I do not find that to be good marketing. Good marketing is stuff like that car ad where they get all the car parts and make that 'continuous' shot. This is just sickening.

And it was quoted in Family Guy Season 3 Episode 10 "Fish out of water". But thanks for informing me that it actually wasn't just something that was made up on the show. I'd never heard it anywhere else before.
