    I believe it was because instead of linking from their own webspace, they linked from the webspace that had the images. In general, please do not do that. It is bandwith theft.

    It was free hosting for people (like me) who are to lazy or to stupid to get a host my sig account to work. Plus it makes you feel cool when you actually have a picture down in your sig.
