I've only played for a short while but this game looks like it's got a future. The GFX are nothing new but lightning fast. The game is over 200 MB in size so you 56kers can't get in on the action. You can download from my site or hunt down a link to other sites. Any comments on the game?

It's a rare and wonderful occasion when one gets a free game of such high quality. Okay, the voice acting sometimes reveals the budget and there are some grammatical errors in the texts, plus a noticeable amount of clumsy writing, but all that doesn't really matter at all. If you invest your time in this 200mb download, what you get is a space combat simulator with a newtonian physics model (screw Freespace and it's "flight model") and quite stunning graphics. It's also the hardest game I've played this year, which is actually a good thing since most games are made for pansies these days. The closest thing to this delightful treat is the I-War series of games, but instead of piloting a corvette class ship, you only pilot a single Starfury class fighter in this one.
A few tips for beginners:
1) Even though there's a plenty of room for navigational errors in space, you actually can fly too fast in this game. Never accelerate too much, for you might miss your intended destination by several hundred thousand kilometers if you forget to decelerate in time.
2) The autopilot is actually more like 'ramming speed' toggle. It flies you from point alpha to point beta very accurately, provided there are no asteroids the size of a small moon, battlecruisers, jumpgates or planets on the way. In fact, I've begun to believe that the autopilot actually is trying to ram everything it can find on the sensors, since durring one auto-assisted flight, I managed not only to hit the rotating section of an Earth Alliance destroyer, but also a huge asteroid. I did survive the first impact, but the asteroid was too much.
3) Do not fly too fast when dogfighting. You will miss your targets, but they will not miss you.
4) If you feel like whining about the difficulty level, load up a DOS emulator and play some Space Hulk 1 to see the proper definition for 'unfair difficulty level'.
On a side note, if you experience FPS drops, or the game in general feels unplayably nudgy, please do disable "motion blur" from the graphics settings.

Last I knew Babylon 5 the PC game was canceled when the show stopped making new episodes (when it got canned dispite its international popularity by TNT network production) since then the reruns went over to scifi channel or something. At the time it was said that they canceled the game as well.
I still have the old beta demo vids on my PC from years ago.
I was really sad that it was never to come out bt im oh so happy now.

Hello there, what browser are you using? That's the hotlink protection that's enabled for anti-leeching practices
Flying around in theird person is awesome. It goes into this widescreen mode and everything, and the textures and models are pretty.

Okay! You don't gotta tell me twice! As I am a hopelessly obsessed B5 fan...
First of all, the official site is at http://ifh.firstones.com. If you have trouble downloading the game, go to the site and find the BitTorrent file.
Second, this game has nothing to do with the title 'Bablyon 5 - Into the Fire', except that they are both situated in the B5 universe. B5:ItF was cancelled by Sierra and nobody else was willing to purchase the license. 'I've Found Her' is a freeware game, and can probably never be anything else, since the creators do not own a Babylon 5 license. This means they can never sell the game for profit. In conclusion, no, this is not the demo from years past. This is the good stuff, and will get better if the developers have enough time to create more campaigns.
Third, this is the first release, and does not contain the full game. The skirmish mode doesn't seem to be included, and the campaign of this game is only a planned prequel campaign to others that will probably be released in the future. I'd consider this first release to be kind of like the first episode in an ongoing series.
Fourth, if the training missions annoy you, just skip straight into the main campaign and learn by dying.
Annoying as hell.
I've been playing since Christmas and am longing for the Skirmish mode, as much as I enjoy this game, it gets old after 12 runs through the campaign.
A Babylon 5 game?! Oh I'm so there!
Hold the line! Nothing get's through!
Here's a tip:
Prevent the ramming by targeting the transport titled Green as soon as the mission starts, and shooting it down as fast as you can.
Anybody got any idea how to shoot those Starfurys down in mission 3 while still staying alive?

Thats what I've done every time.
*Edit*
No matter what I do I get rammed to death. I'll be flying around chasing some other guy, then all of the sudden, BEEP BEEP COLLI- YOURE DEAD. Ive sat right under the perseus or whatever its called, and gotten rammed, I've flown out WAAAAY into the middle of nowhere and been rammed. This game is not fun

Hmm, I've had a few collisions of my own, but the first mission didn't seem impossibly hard. What speeds are you flying at? I set the throttle to 50 when I engaged, and used the forward thrusters and the afterburner to escape being targeted.
My question exactly. And if not, will it ever?
