How much again?
i know my map is more lighted than what i get in my screen caps, and i remember something about changing the light level in Photoshop, but i don't remember how much it was supposed to be. in brightness/contrast in Photoshop, i'm changing the contrast to +30. is this enough, not enough, should i not even be using contrast... i was looking for the thing where it said what/how much, but couldn't find. thankx

Brightness and contrast should be two sliders in the same pop-up window. How much you adjust them is up to you... try and remember how the map looked in game, and adjust the pictures until it looks right. Beyond that, can't help you.

yeah. i adjusted the pic to how i thought it should be, loaded NSTR, then exited straight to PS and it looked really close, so i used 30.

for those wondering how i did that, in Photoshop, go to [Image>Adjust>Brightness and Contrast] and the lower bar should be contrast. move it to the right untill it says "+30"

The color adjusting guide. Look near the bottom for the part in bold.

This should be in the mapping forum, and the answer is in the mapping forum FAQ. Not brightness/contrast, but levels.

I don't understand this formula. If my env_gamma is set to 2, what should the values be in photoshop>image>adjust>levels ?

value = 255 - (WorldcraftGammaSetting - 1.0)*128
You're is 2, sooo...

Value = 255 - (2 - 1.0)*128
Value = 255 - 128
Value = 127
