Directx 9; And Back To 8.1

It's from a while ago, so I don't know how much things have changed...

I've found a Direct X 9 uninstaller here: <a href='http://www.3dcenter.de/downloads/directx-dx9uninstaller.php' target='_blank'>http://www.3dcenter.de/downloads/directx-d...uninstaller.php</a>, but I'm a bit concerned that there might be some unforseen circumstance that might kill me.

I have a Ti 4400 right now, and from what I understand, having 9.0 has no benefits for this card. The reason why I want to revert back is because there's a program that I can't run without the use of 8.1 (1964 - N64 emulator I'm trying to run).

So... any last words before I attempt this, please let me know.

    Project 64 is better....

    and it runs under Directx 9, so problem solved...

    Yeah, I have that as well; but I'm curious to see how 1964 runs, as the newest was released just the start of 2004 - newest updated emulator.

    I tried it once because my computer was broke and I thought the reason was DX9. Although it didn't help my problem it un-installed DX9 without a hitch. Just be careful though.

    I started that post <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    My problems with DX9 seem to have died down, but Elite Force 2 STILL won't work properly. I can only guess it's my sound card, but i'm not replacing that for the sake of one game.

    And Project 64 crashes lots and lots for me. All of a sudden (I played through Ocarina of Time with zero crashes, but it crashes every 15 minutes or so with Majora's Mask). Although it may be just the specific ROM.

    On a side note, I did actually complete EF2 by saving very regularly and rebooting about every 10-30 minutes.
