i used to go by pc magazines but realised i can get the news 2 mths earlier online at game arena. let alone they give you the new latest game demos which dont add tya dl caps.
i also get news from here and also some other random sites.
I go to Bluesnews.com, and sometimes Gamespydaily.com. I also get the weekly file roundup email from FilePlanet.com, so that I don't accidently miss any cool new demos, movies, patches, and so on.
There really aren't any good game websites out there though. Most just specialize in 're-reporting', like the utterly worthless Shacknews and all its ilk. If you find one re-reporting site (like BN or GSD) you are covered pretty much for all info. If you want a good set of articles, editorials, commentary, less-biased reviews, etc. you really just have to go everywhere and pick out tiny kernels of goodness from a huge ball of wet turd we call the intarweb.
PS: http://www.dailyrotation.com - a very useful site for those that want to tailor and consolidate their news into a single page of info, especially for IT and gaming.

Used to be an avid reader of gamespot thanks to it's many movie clips and info and reviews and stuff and was even tempted to pay when they introduced the payscheme but in the end I just stopped reading it =/
