Remove it. Just do it -- companies have no right to install that **** in your computer.

Type msconfig in the Run box, and uncheck the cdac11ba.exe from the startup tab.

Further investigation actually does show this file to be somewhat dubious. It seems to be very hard to erase, and the fact that is it, (albeit benign) to all intents and purposes capable of being spyware, means some questions have been raised as to the legality of how Macrovision's copy protection actually operates.

If you're security conscious (and most of the Internet isn't) kill it, simply for being a potential future security risk and/or invasion of privacy. If you're not, ignore it.

    Addendum :

Sadly, they do. They got the right when you said 'Yes' to that Terms and Conditions box. You did read it, didn't you?

let's not argue about that. Let's just call it unethical to install such software without informing the user (because god knows NO ONE reads the license).

Software EULAs are a joke. Both the producers and their lawyers know it. No other product has anything that compares to it for good reason, but it's still gonna stick around unless someone rules it illegal. Fair use, anyone?

Anything I put out has about 2 lines of agreement: I hold the copyright on this software. Follow your local laws on the subject. Sometimes I actually give them MORE rights, in terms of modification.

But I did tell you. I told you to read it and specifically indicate you had done so, as otherwise I didn't give you permission to install any of the software. Did you not read that either?
