Of course, Cowboy Bebop is excluded from my generalization.

Well, an alternate hypothesis is that Inf is a complete addict, who will watch any anime. I think that's more plausible than "anime sucks".
This possibly explains why Serial Experiments: Lain is on that list, too
A.) They are all under an hour long so I don't need to put up with 30 episodes of standing around
B.) They're uncut, so I don't get to see the butchered job that FUNimation did on the series.
C.) I had bought just about everything else that month, so why not...
And what's wrong with Lain? It's great.
5.1Mb
If you only buy one series this year, make sure it is this one.
Comedy f***ing gold.
Also of note, the Region 1 Volume 1 release of the new Captain Herlock OVA contains a trailer for Hajime No Ippo. Which they have deemed to call Fighting Spirit: Hajime No Ippo.
And no before you ask, Hajime No Ippo does not translate to Fighting Spirit.
Hajime No Ippo was one of my favourite series of last year. It's about a guy named Ippo who becomes a boxer. Amazing fights. Also recommended, but it is aimed at more of a niche market I believe.
All is the same and all ****
*edit* According to my anime obsessed friend, there is a distinct difference between the watered-down kiddiefied DBZ and the movies, in that he is actually willing to watch the movies. That said I do not intend to watch either in the near future. *edit*
ADV have put up quite a few new trailers actually.
<a href='http://www.advfilms.com/trailers/wmv/High/Kino's%20Journey_WMV%20Large%2016.wmv' target='_blank'>Kino's Journey
BASToF Lemon
Happy Lesson
Wedding Peach
Kaleido Star
Gravion
There's also a bunch of other trailers I need to download to tell you what they are about (The filename doesn't give it away)
Kino's Journey: Kino No Tabi if you were collecting the fansub, tells the tale of a young boy named Kino who travels the country side on the back of a motorcycle named Hermes which just so happens to talk. Don't worry, it's not aimed at a younger audience. Watch the trailer and see for yourself. I quite enjoyed this series when it came out, and the animation style rang very close to home as the same style Noir was produced in (Though they are done by 2 entirely different companies) There is action, a little philispohical in parts, but a damn good watch. 13 episodes long (Half season)
BASToF Lemon: BASToF is short for "Be A Stranger To Fear" Young kids in the future fight in a VR field inside mechs. I personally haven't seen a single ep, so I dunno what to expect. Would probably be along the same lines as Digimon or similar, but aimed at a slightly higher age bracket. 26 episodes long (1 season)
Happy Lesson: Harem anime. 1 loser, bunch of hot girls. Nuff said. Dunno if it's the OVA or the TV series... OVA is 3 eps, TV is a half season (13 eps)
Wedding Peach: Aimed at young girls. Tells the story of four angels who protect the earth and the four symbols of love and try to fall in love at the same time. Sappy stuff ain't it? Again, haven't seen a single ep. 51 episodes long (2 seaons)
Kaleido Star: Yay another Studio Gonzo production. Follows the exploits of a young japanese girl named Sora who's dream it is to join the Kaleido Stage. A theatre group based in America who specialise in very colourful acrobatic versions of many well known plays. Highly recommended, superb plot and animation. 39 episodes long (1 season [26 eps] and 1 half season [13 eps])
Gravion: ANOTHER Gonzo production, though this time the quality slips a little. It pays homage to all the old mech series of old (Mazinger Z, etc) by being EXTREMELY camped up yet still retaining the serious tone throughout the series. Large combining mechs ala Voltron, little plot, skimpy clothes. If it's your thing go nuts, but I advise you stay well away. Far far far away. Gonzo really slipped up on this one. 13 episodes long (Half season)

Hmm, sorry, don't mind me. I'm just **** because my internet provider has been giving me problems for a week now...
Anyways...
Uploadit.org seems to be back up, so the pictures work again.
However your opinion would be most appreciated.
What's extra to the perfect Lain Collection that you wouldn't get from just buying the individual DVDs? Extra eps or just DVD extras and stuff? =o

Owned with a capitol P.
DBZ? Tisk tisk tisk. No excuses there.
What's Lain about?
You should not judge anime by Akira, Street Fighter 2 or western animations. And for love hina I cant stand it and im a big anime fan, try watching something to your liking. I would recommend the site http://www.animenfo.com, its one of the best databases on the net tbh.

How is that owned?
Displaying an obviously ignorant opinion in the face of someone who knows a LOT about the subject in question is dumb, and in no way "pwning" someone.

I don't think Lain's a psychological thriller... I'd class it more as something you watch to mess with your mind =o

My thoughts exactly. Why post this month after month? Just make a website, and post the update in your signature!
Necro: Don't mind hijacking the thread, that's what it's here for. Berserk is quite an excellent series, if you want violence this is where to get it. I PERSONALLY prefer the manga to the anime because of plot major plot inconsistancies, but that's just me. Because you've never read the manga you'll have nothing to worry about. Go and enjoy it by all means.
25 eps long, and the 2nd season is currently being created in Japan.
Gem: The Lain Perfect Collection is just all 4 DVDs in the series in one box. Nothing more.
Liku: Lain is about a young girl named lain, and a lot of weird technobabble stuff happens, extremely weird visions occur, etc... it's a total mind job. Especially the last episode... I'd buy it if you were looking for something extremely different. Very hard to explain to somebody else...
Kayomani: I used to recommend animenfo.com, but now I refer people to the anime database (AniDB in my sig) Simply because they have a bigger archive. Try looking up Bastof Lemon on animenfo, you won't find it
Esuna: Word.
Pieceofsoap: As with most people this one went under my radar as well (Shock horror), I've only seen bits and pieces of it (Friend imported the Hong Kong pirated version) and from what I saw it looked alright.
From what I know it's another mecha series... but your better off looking up some info on it first.
Also the girls in tribal paint that you see on the covers... don't turn up anywhere in tribal paint in the series. Go figure.
Now, if they removed the fluff from DBZ in the movies, it could be worth watching (or at least rabidly collecting *coughInfinitumcough*).
Well... I didn't like it because it had all this great overshadowing and bulding up and suspense, then it p***ed it all down the toilet in a tie-up episode, then launched into a tirade of technobabble which I'm sure sounds extremely impressive to anyone who doesn't understand how computers or the Internet work. Lots of style, lots of potential, but I got the impression that each three consecutive episodes were written by a completely seperate person. There was no cohesion, no master plan. Maybe it didn't help that Lain was the second real anime series I saw (the first being Neon Genesis Evangelion), but I found it very disappointing.
does your job land you an assload of grip (read: moolah (read: clams (read: bank (read: lettuce (read: smackers) ) ) ) ?
if not.. how do you pay for.. like.. survival?
note: if your answer to question 1 is no, do you counterfeit/steal/have mob connections?
edit: and if you have connections, hook it up with the anime?
300 goes towards my savings account
The rest I spend on myself. Fuel, food, DVDs, clothes, etc.
I live at home with my parents. So free board = win.
Kinda like Perfect Blue?
