IN steam, when I play DOD

1. Typed chat messages dont appear. even when I type them.
2. My it wont let me bind a key to select my grenade. I can bind a key to fast change to all the other ones but my stupid nade.

ive tried every possible slot 5,6,7,8,9,0 and nothing works.
Also i tried to put in some skins and sounds.

steam/steamapps/@domain/dod/sound/weapons

or steam/steamapps/@domain/dod/model bla bla bla you get the point, same for CS when i play a game they dont get used?

Anyone have any ideas.


also when u play cs and u have that retarded magical shield, if you are carrying it but you are not "using it" as you are shooting and not right clicking to bring it up, if you are shot in the shield area are you still protected or is it a total on/off thing?

    In DoD the reason messages don't appear is because you're running Steam with a Custom Skin on, switch to Default and it'll work.

    Last time I checked that was the case. It was great for fights. If you used up all of your ammo and are reloading look a little to the left so that your shield is completely protecting the side you are being attacked from .

    Custom skins as in Game Models and Game Sounds? No, you can use that, I mean the interface of steam as to be Default.
