What Video Card Do You Have And Why?
I want to see what most people have, who makes it, and why did you get it?
Did you get X because you want the best of the best?
Or Did you want Y because its was effective at a decent price?
Did you get Z because it was cheapo-depot?
What manufacturer do you prefer?
I am an ATI man myself. And I got a 9800 because I didn't want to fool with upgrading for awhile.

I'll be going for a 9600 pro AiW soon, or wait a bit to see what's in the middle range.
Why? Because TNT2's were damn fine cards for their time and my newish computer was a gift so I didn't get to choose which card I would get. Also, I don't have an AGP slot on my newish computer. *sigh*
*Edit* Well, I've Googled my questions and found out that there is a GeForce FX5200 with a PCI interface, I'm assuming this means it's made for a PCI slot, am I right? And if so, would it be worth the $100+ to upgrade from Intel Extreme Graphics to it?
For christmas I am getting a Connect 3D Radeon 9600 PRO 128Mb, mainly because of your suggestion, it is an effective graphics card that has a nice price to it

9500 Pro usually beats the 9600 series because it has 8 pipelines, unlike the 9600 series that has only 4.
I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (only AGP 4x though).
It was a good price at the time and seemed
to be more than capable of running the games
I wanted it to run.
I might buy a 9700 in the New Year, some DDR Ram
is needed first.

if you can find a 9500 then I congratulate you. If you find one available anywhere near where I live I congratulate you even more.
I used to like NVidia, but now ATI is catching up with all the awesome stuff.
Previous Geforce 4 I had was made by a piece of **** french company whos name I cannot remember but I will never touch them again cos it died on me literally a few days after the warrenty expired so i decided to go with asus second time round cos they are highly recommended.
but by christmas ill have a radeon 9600 (only 70 bucks wewt) and even later like a week or two ill have my new compy (amd 3000+ gig ram and sorts im so happy so very happy)
and I have it because.. well, I got it for free.. along with the rest of my current computer. Can't get any better than Free.
movies come out well though
would have gotten the 9800 pro or xt if I could afford it...
it came with the computer my parents got
Getting a Radeon 9600XT soon as HL2 comes out (which will be in a few months, by then it will cost maybe $200 tops and I get my copy of HL2 for free).
Anyone who's read prior video card debates here in OT already knows that I stand by ATI for a number of reasons:

Full precision. No cutting down the color calculations just to bump up FPS ratings. (*cough*nVidia*cough*)

Speed. It's one of the faster performers out there right now.

Standards compliance. They don't rely on the drivers to act as a translation layer. (See 'speed'.)

ATI doesn't hard-code clip planes into their drivers to cheat on benchmarks, then threaten the benchmarking company to accept them as 'optimizations'.
Though my purchase of the R9500 Pro was more of dumb luck than anything else... ran short on fundage so had to step down from a 9700 Pro.
It was the second best card on the market when I bought it. The price was right (around 150-200.) And I had a Voodoo3 2000 PCI at the time. It's a great card! Even now it runs most games at 1024 and full detail at at least 30fps. Doesn't do Pixel Shaders too well though. Disabling them usually doubles my FPS in the given game.
ATi 9800pro All In Wonder, bought from a friend who works as ATI for a LOT less than usual.
Fun fun.
I personally prefer getting All in Wonder than paying 50 bucks more for a gift voucher for a $50 game and lose AiW capacities.
sender, can your friend be my friend?
