well the only useful piece of information in that message is about some kind of driver/irq conflict.

So, here's what I would try if I were you.... (Translation: if this breaks something, don't blame me)

reboot your computer and go into the bios settings. Find the irq settings and look for something in that general area that says something to the effect of "Plug and Play OS". It should be a yes/no only option.

Whatever it's currently set to, change it to the other. And cross your fingers.

One of three things:

1) Video card (or perhaps some other card, but odds are its your Video card) somehow is loose in your case. Open her up and take out the card and reinsert it.

2) Messed up drivers, try reinstalling them

3) Corrupt windows installation, try reinstalling Windows completely.

In my experience, 9 times out of 10 when you get this error its due to #1.

Have you just installed some new drivers ? Have you updated Planetside ?

I've had these in the past, and its usually been due to dodgy drivers.

You probably have too many devices on one IRQ.
Go to control panel and enter the system properties. From there you should go to something like hardware manager then from there view devices by connection ( I think?).
Anyway from there expand the IRQ selection and you'll probably find that you have alot of devices on IRQ 7 or 11. Mostly likely your sound card, video card and modem and god knows how manyother things you have installed.
This is the cause of your problem. However in XP/2k you can't manually assign IRQs anymore, as its supposed to sort itself out. However it does a **** poor job of it sometimes.

The best way to resolve it is to (If you have a pci sound or video card or a pci modem) uninstall one of the devices then place it in a different slot and reinstall it there. This usually make the OS put it on a different IRQ and solve the problem.

Faulty memory might also be the cause of this error. Find a memory testing program and use it to see if all your memory modules are still functioning normally.

Scinet is correct - this error typically refers to memory issues. It's rather misleading to read, but whatever. Go here for some basical troubleshooting info.

Can't believe I forgot this one, as its the one I had problems with the most when I had this problem.

Yeah, if you get it like all the freakin time its probably a bad stick of ram. If you have 2 or more sticks, try running them one at a time. The corrupt one won't even boot, so it'll be easy to narrow down...

Bad video card drivers are usually the culprit if you hardware is all okay. If your hardware is on the fritz, well, good luck!

If you can reproduce the error doing the same thing, its unlikely to be memory and more likely to be software/drivers. If its seemingly random, then its more likely hardware. Given that its happening at the same time when you're joining a game, then I would say its software - specifically: drivers.
