Ok, I Need Help

<div class="IPBDescription">Help me in my search!</div> Practically I'm on my CIT assignment and unfortunately the school went all Multimedia instead of prgramming (AWWWW)

But anyway....now onto what I need to search for

- A good network card
- Playing 3D computer games
- Tools for word processing and printing of homework and photos
- Watching VCD and DVDs (that's an obvious one)
- Listening to music
- Must be a desktop model
- <b> MUST NOT EXCEED THE HKD$10,000 BUDGET! (approximately USD$1290 for you people lazy to calculate it)</b>

And well, let's say Google is being bad to me, let's say it returns sports shops instead of computer component stores.

And let's say that I will need some opinions from your choice as well. Thanksfully it's a Christmas assignment and I will hand it in at the 2nd of January.

edit: ohh, $1,200 USD, it makes more sense now. You can get OpenOffice for free for word processing... or are you talking about hardware only...

Besides, the prices here in Hong Kong between video cards vary GREATLY. Some shops offer GeForce FX 5200s for a decent price while others have them at ridiculously high prices, making my assignment heck lot harder.

But don't forget, I also have to do my part no? I am also looking for the information I need right now.....but right now Google is still throwing those sports shops at me.

We have shops like that in the UK too. They're called PC World, Dixons, etc... They cater for people who know nothing about computers or are too lazy to find out.
