Failed my hopes, means something like i hoped for someone to do something, yea? So then that something did not happened. So that someone failed to do that something, so in turn that someone failed to do that something i hoped for, and something i hope for is my hope, so when we put all pieces together, we get the original sentence. Was that so hard? Or sure not.
