More Than One Defensive Upgrade?

You can get any upgrade in the game.

You can tell it's combat due to experience bar at the bottom, lack of hives displayed in the corner, and the multiple upgrades of the same type.

Only a skulk can get all 9 upgrades though, and that's by sacrificing leap and xeno. Skulks can get 8 upgrades and leap, or 7 upgrades and xeno. Other evolutions can get progressivly less upgrades, esspecially if they want the higher weapons.

I've been wondering a thing for some time. Why does it show three icons of the same? Sure, you get level3 right away but in combat, where you can have more than one of the same type, it gets a little messy up there.
