I've been banned from three servers with my name as xl-cow.
The cases went really logically, people don't whine in unique ways anymore.
A) I kill some people, either 3 skulks or a couple marines. Do this a few times. B) Someone tells me I hack C) I say "I don't hack. If someone like me could use hacks on the server, then the server's protections really really failed. Discuss it with the server administration." D) "I am the admin." E) Banned.
All it really did for me was g et me isolated to a couple servers. I play on xzilen's for most of my games, the patrolmen with rcon at least check things out and have a general procedure before making any action.

I've been accused of Cheating/Hacking twice in my whole time playing NS, both on servers that I've never visited before then, and I was banned off of both because I was a 'hax0r' or a 'hacker nub' or whatever.
I used to admin an NS server, (now CS with a new NS coming in) and I no longer wear my clan tag in hopes of catching more retards, I had been acused of hacking many times only to have some silly little fool try to amx_votekick "Pinhedd", its so funny when i get "OMG! ITS TEH ADMINZ!!!!!" slap
I'm not surprised they were a little bit suspicious. But thats not to say you didn't peak that suspicion with your name and skill level. Needless to say, there are other servers out there, just pick a new one. Hopefully you didn't go to a server you frequent and got banned <b>there</b>.
firstly, I rarely perform that good so lady luck must had been smiling at me. Secondly, wait, there is no second reason.
Oh yeh, yesterday on another server, I was accused of cheating but luckily, it was only vocal. I saw an unguarded alien RT at NS_Veil on the emergency res node. I proceeded to cut it till it had 3/4 life and ran away to meet up with friends at Nano. I returned to the RT this time through the left of the RT and sure enough, a Gorge was there, I backstabbed and killed it easily. I continued cutting the RT till it had 1/2 life and then immediately crouch and move away. Sure enough, the same player who was the earlier gorge appeared but this time, it was a skulk. Apparently, the skulk must had been shocked when it suddenly saw me looking at it, I killed it again.
I then cut the RT till it had 1/4 life and jumped away ,the same skulk appeared and almost got me but I killed it. This time, 2 marine friends appeared and we killed the RT.
The skulk then shouted Cheater! a couple of times but everyone ignored him.

I think I was accued of "Sound Hacks" according to Uranium 235. I also found a link in their chan (Lunixmonster) to appeal the ban. I expalined what happend in a letter but no one got back to me. At the nozzel in emergency c-12 I can hear skulks coming from those 2 sets of small steps that are right around the corner that is more than enough time to switch weapons and reposition and wait.Also there was another marine with me and we switched off a few times as well. Did you record a demo of me? Did you ask anyone else to spectate for a second opinion? Or did you get killed a few times and then threw your self onto your bed and started crying and then got up and banned me? Just curious thats all.

You think you can spec and find out if someone is cheating?Only if the person is stupid.Trust me,most cheaters see someone specing,they go into "fool the specer mode".They adjust the sensitivity of the aimbot randomly,deliberately walk into ambushes,sometimes not,etc,etc.

For example, i'm a sound kind of guy, i have a really good pair of headsets, and i can pretty much hear a skulk sneaking up even if he makes the tinest mistake in movements, that's why alot of people see me prefire on skulks that will be coming around the corner, because i know, they're gonna be coming by, just my timing wasn't all that accurate. But yeah, if i hear anything, i switch right away, that's how i play, and if skulks have silence, i'd probobly keep dying, since if i can't hear them... i most likely wont survive, unless if they try and hit me from the front.

...Unless they deliberately do that so you don't get banned when you shoot 4 cloaked skulks in one LMG clip or something.
Even VAC is better than no automatic protection at all(the current state of affairs unless you play on cheating-death servers). And admins are not allways the answer either *looks in U235's direction*.
edit: oops forgot the point I was trying to make, I'll be glad when NS gets VAC support as most servers out there are totally unprotected.
Who needs to hack in ns anyways? The skills for aliens rock and the guns are awesome.... some people are just sore losers nowadays. The term hacker is thrown at everyone who has an excellent score. Most of us who have played the game for quite a while have indeed been accused of hacking once or twice. At this point my favorite thing to do is laugh kill them again and say "if I am this good without using hacks imagine how good i'd be with them eh?" At this point they usually start swearing and I kill em a few more times for good measure. As for the original post aliens are the ones more likely to get kill after kill due to respawn portals aliens can start off anywhere in the room of the hive so a onos or fade in a poorly defended base is bound to go on a "winning" streak. The idiots who complain about "hackers" should instead worry about defending themselves a little better next time it sounds like.

I didn't think hacking was that big of a problem on ns. We all get the wallhax anyways with SoF or motion tracking. The spread on everything but the pistol is huge so aimbots really wouldn't help that much(not like in cs). And speed hack is kinda easy to spot. I think I've only seen one cheater(blatant speedhax) since I started playing ns. I usually play the same steam server though with reg admins.
No-spread hack.This one rmoves spread on guns.Basically every gun becomes even better than the pistol in accuracy.HMG.Onos in say,ref on bast.Now...imagine what happens if the marine has no-spread hack and knows where to aim.
Lambert makes all players and structures become very bright.Essentially,they look like someone turned on the "glow" function.Yes,it will make cloak useless.
Speedhack...easy to spot?Yes and no.What if the guy is a regular,or a clanner,and he only turns on speedhacks when its skulk vs HA,or when shooting an onos?Wouldnt it make it WAY harder to get him banned for cheating?You bet it would,particularly if hes in a clan.
Most aimbotters use it with the no-spread hack and a bunnyhop script anyway,so basically they can kill 4+ skulks at once if they want to.

I've seen and played with OneFishTwoFish - and from what I've seen, he in no way, shape or form, hacks. I agree the banning was both overkill & unjustified.
