Mr. Grieves - The Pixies

It's my job to haunt you.

In fact, I probably have enough characters left for another sobriety quote from you.

and I have an IRC log that should have some intresting ones.

benny hill theme? =]

shuffle your playlist on an mp3 player if you've got one, so you can crack up while you're strutting down the street (works best with a playlist of 40+ songs for surprise effect)

Out of the stuff I listen to these would probably be the ones that cheer me up most if I'm in a bad mood:

Try these first if you are going to take me up on any suggestions:
R.E.M - Electrolite (<-- I have listened to this SO many times)
electric light orchestra - Mr blue sky
weird al yankovic - your horiscope for today
Nik Kershaw - won't let the sun go down
Procol Harum - a whiter shade of pale
Rick wakeman - Journy to the center of the earth(instrumental version)

Some other cheery songs:
genesis - the silent sun
genesis - time table
genesis - vancouver
genesis - undertow
genesis - brazilian
genesis - uncertain weather
genesis - your own special way
weird al yankovic - everything you know is wrong
camel - stationary traveller
camel - echoes
peter gabriel - moribund (yes this does cheer me up)
electric light orchestra - Lonesome lullaby
R.E.M - losing my religion
R.E.M - Man on the moon
R.E.M - Everybody hurts
R.E.M - What's the frequency Kenneth?
Yes - saving my heart
Yes - close to the edge (yes this cheers me up too)
Nik Kershaw - The riddle
Procol Harum - Good old captain clack
Procul Harum - Homburg
Procul Harum - repent Walpurgis
Rick Wakeman - green to gold
Rick wakeman - space oddity (instrumental version of that major something david bowie song)

Aiko - Boyfriend
Cheesey as hell pop with a banjo. A FREAKIN' BANJO!

Panyo Panyo DiGi Charat - Happy! Smile! Hello!
The theme to Panyo Panyo DiGi Charat, it's as infectious and happy as the title suggests. I have no idea who does it, i can't read Japanese.

And One - Evil Boys
And one straying from their normal serious EBM / Industrial to do a an odd catchy little bouncy number. It kinda reminds me of what an electronica version of ska would be like.

DiGi Charat - Party Night
The song they perform in DiGi Charat in episode 14 or 15 (Can't remember offhand). It's disgustingly cute and catchy, just like Happy! Smile! Hello!

Sublime - Caress Me Down
It's not really a "happy" song, but it's a porn dub groove. It's too cool and always makes me smile and sing along.

Rancid - Olympia WA.
Same as above. Good times.

Decimate - My Own Way
Brutal UK Hardcore, fast guitars, slow beatdowns, entirely full of hate. Man, it makes me feel good listening to pre catharsism.

50 Caliber - Beautifully Weak
Same as above.

Life of Agony - Weeds
Automatically cheers me up. I simply love the song, and suggest anyone listens to it once.

DMX - Party Up
Very good to dance too, especially with large numbers of hottie's about

P.O.D - Alive
Don't ask. I'm not sure.

Alice Cooper - Poison
For sheer fun cheese factor.

Sublime - What I got
Simply, the best feel-good song ever. No exceptions, and the only one close is.....

The Wildhearts - I wanna go where the people go (Title of song possibly not correct)
Also a great song, by a band who've done both excellent and awful tracks. But a very good cheer up song.

Back on the Sublime bandwagon, i'd like to recommend "Wrong Way". The lyrical content isn't exactly too happy, it's about a 14 year old prostitude being pimped by her dad, but anyway, it's a really upbeat, happy ska track.

Songs with happy beats:

Goldfinger - Superman
Lots of stuff by Green Day
REM - Radio Song
REM - Fall on Me (maybe not happy enough though)
REM - It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I feel Fine)
Queen - Killer Queen
Queen - Another One Bites the Dust
Matchbox 20 - realworld
Nena - 99 Luftballoons (the old version, the new one is sortof sad...and missing a stanza)
Nena - ? (Fragezeichen) (might not consider it happy though)
Nena - ...ahh, I have no idea what its name is; it starts with "ich bin so allein, ich will bei dir sein"...it may be Nur Geträumt or something.
Tatu - Ya Soshla s Uma (there's a techno version...I don't think you'll find it on a CD anywhere unfortunately)
Tatu - Bylo i Proshlo (...yea...anyother 'techno-ish' song...kinda weird in the middle though).
Tatu - Nas ne dogonyat (titled Not Gonna Get Us in english)

Well, that's all I can think of for now...most song lyrics aren't happy though.

Also Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy by Ren and Stimpy .

Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows - Lesley Gore
Dream a Little Dream - DJ Mystik
Anything by The Polyphonic Spree.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Isreal Kamakawiso'ole

I actually memorized the lyrics to Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows, great song to break out singing when you want people to leave you alone. Dream a Little Dream is the definition of happy hardcore, its like stuffing cotton candy in your ears. Polyphonic Spree is pretty much a huge chorus of hippies singing, its weird but happy. You have to find Somewhere Over the Rainbow too, its dreamy.

I have no 'popular' music whatsoever, that alone makes me happy.

Sooka, sooka, sooka, sooka bazooka, sooka bazooka, yeah!

Also give these a look in:

Mad Cow And The Royal Eurobeat Orchestra Of Bazookistan - Discow Moscow
Stupidly happy eurobeat track.

Bazooka Girls - Cantare Ballare
Stupidly happy eurobeat again, but all the lyrics are other eurobeat song titles, it's too good and the lyrics just end up being bizarre. "Go Go Dance, Technotronic Flight, Shadow In The Night, Telephone, Try Me Ike Ike, Dancing In The Jungle, Dancing In The Maharaja Night!!"

Bazooka Girls - Velfarre 2000
Again, it's eurobeat, but this is just a total classic. It spawned a running thing with a few friends of mine shouting TOKYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO randomly at people, purely because this song uses a sample of that 11 times. And it's only about 2 minutes long.

it's funny because people put sad songs on here, if you actually listen to the lyrics.

I'll add:

AC/DC: TNT, Thunderstruck, You Shook Me All Night Long, etc (a lot of their stuff actually)
