Ns Freezes When Clicking Anything In Multiplayer

<div class="IPBDescription">why?! -_-;</div> For some weird reason, NS freezes whenever I choose any option in the Multiplayer menu.
It doesn't crash out, nor give me an error message; it just sits there... frozen... and only way to get out is to restart my machine.
I've done complete reinstall of HL, installing 1.1.1.0 patch, then installing NS, to no avail.
(In a meanwhile, my SC sits there with 'querying server' whenever I try to connect to Battle.net, and clicking cancel leads me to blank screen... -_-; and yet, my WC3 connects to Battle.net fine o_O; .... something about failing to open key patches/patch and registry...)
Anyway, about my NS problem, any ideas? =x
(Oh, and about ZoneAlarm, I already set necessary permissions... ZoneAlarm doesn't block HL from connecting to the net... unless I missed something else)
My rig:
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
1 GB DDR400 RAM
Windows XP Professional, SP1
Radeon 9600 PRO w/ Omega drivers
SB Audigy 2 w/ latest drivers
AOpen 56k Modem
Latest ver. of ZoneAlarm

Oh, and cany you use the MPlayer menu in any other HL mod?
