Yes, ANOTHER.
Up until a month ago, Steam was the bane of my existence, my Kryptonite, if you will. I posted on a variety of petitions for the removal of "its scum from my nice shiny fridge door" and lived only to see the day it would finally go... *ahem* how do you say it? Ah, yes "Down the Crapper". This revultion of Steam grew into rage against the (machine) system.
That is, until I got broadband.
As soon as it was obtained, I proceeded to burn my 56k modem in a pit of gasoline with several lighted matches in some crazy ritual I only remember bite sized morsels of. Steam had then become my friend, instead of my Arch Nemesis. Its cool features like the Tracker and 1.6 drew me in...
...Into the fiery blades of death, that is...
Steam has again recently become the bane of my existence, It's "content delivery system" (or in other words, "Pile of **** wrapped up in string with a bow") delivered unwanted faeces mounds to my doorstep, such as DoD 1.1 BETA. Why, oh, why would someone release a BETA version to the whole world as an UPGRADE for a perfectly fine game, only to riddle it with bugs, such as the WHOLE WORLD turning white when you use a sniper rifle!? Surely,if you sat down as a beta tester, dear reader, and both your eyes were functioning in a adequete way, you'd notice the world turning into a evil frost covered winter wonderland with evil nazi snowmen of doom.
Another unfortunate mishap was the riot shield addition to CS 1.6, therefore just serving as a wall of godmode in front of you, less the he grenade occasionally bouncing at your feet, but come on, how often does THAT happen? Somehow I fail to see the realism in a thin sheet of metal surviving multiple .50 Calibre HyperGreased Sniper Rifle ammunition hurled at it with unmeasurable speed and live to tell the tale.
Another **** of a cs feature has been the F.A.M.A.S. Clearly you can see they have not put any brain cell usage into creating a new weapon, merely looking at a page that says it has 25 rounds per clip and going, "Meh, it looks cool, lets do it!" just doesnt cut it. Also might I add the failure to notice such realistic features of burst fire actually spitting bullets out faster than full auto and being more precisionistic has failed to come through their heads, so Once Again* they have added yet another useless feature to a dying game, hoping to make it look "Revolutionary" and "Spectacular". I find "Craptacular" to be a better description.
Summing up, Steam it appears is trying to rebuild a old game, with a fancy new menu. In truth, they are hurting the game, like a psychotic surgeon missing the patients lung tumor and stabbing him in the brain.
How time flies, time for period 1...

Plus I like the riot shields.
and FAMAS is fine by me, it's decently accurate on full-auto, like a real FAMAS.

*Mistake with cutting and pasting from other forum*
Don't worry the more you use steam the more you appreciate what it does.
Bewm, Game Over
But yeah, this sounds more like a CS 1.6 rant. And to be honest, I think the Riot Shield is the best counter to the AWP :\

One thing that pisses me off most about Steam is that for the last month i've been getting "This game is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
I'VE BEEN TRYING AGAIN LATER FOR A FREAKING MONTH! lol
and i've tried everything to get it to work again =\
Guess I have to wait until the next patch comes out.
