<div class="IPBDescription">how?</div> is it possible to play lan games on steam? me and a few friends are getting a lan party together and we're trying to figure out how/if we can use steam.

I think every player has to connect to the internet. One of them many reasons why steam is awful in its current state.

I don't think LAN games are possible in steam right now....i know that's one of the things they're working on..

Everyone needs to have internet access to log in to steam. Once that happens, you should be in the clear.

IIRC, valve has called this the equivalent of a bug, and promised to fix it.

You could try and play HL with all the updates to the one just before Steam. If you are just playing on a LAN and all the players are running the same version you should be OK.
