That is a very nice model actually. Might be a bit too much for NS, unless somebody was making a biodome/greenhouse type map.
No really, all the sci-fi films I have seen that have indoor environments use small plants, herbs, farns etc, but a tree...hmm. Could you make some small plants or a set of alien trees? That would look nice outside a window!
If the tree gains it's energy from the light of a close star it must not reflect this light. Red leaves under a red sun just don't work because all of the energy is reflected. We have the full spectrum of light here on earth so the trees can waste the green light. How hot will the planet be? Humidity? Wind? Do the plants hover without flapping or are the bound to the ground in which case the might get some minerals from it that give it a special color. What animals live on the planet? How can this plant survive? Mass spread or defence? Hundreds of seeds or spikes and poison?
There are a lot of factors to think about if you need more inspiration.
While these factors are all logical you also have to get an idea of how life develops. Here on earth every higher living form consists of multiple cells and most of the plants have an obvious fractal structure. (The trunc devides into branches wich divide into smaller branches and so on till they reach a certain size and leaves are created.) On other planets life might have a different approach. One example (also used in a 'Stargate' episode) is a chrystaline structure. If you want to go further you could also imagine life forms that only exist partially in our dimension allowing them to show less complexity, like a blob with no structure.
The main work will still be skinning the thing of course <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> Good luck!
