Ns - Steam Server Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Play on non-steam servers using steam?</div> I was able to make NS run under Steam, but now I cant connect to any of my old favorite servers. It says after it tries to connect that the peotocall might be outdated. So now I'm all upset that Steam screwed up my ability to play on all the servers my friend's play on. Can anyone help me to get back on my old non-steam servers?

If you're running STEAM you have to play on a STEAM server. If you're running WON you have to play on a WON server. If you want to play on your old servers simply play from Sierra/HalfLife/NS instead of from STEAM. The 2 are not compatible.

I've tried that. I used to use The All Seeing Eye. But Steam seems to have done something with the exe's for my game. I never played on WON before.
I think Steam might have killed all the .exe for all my games, cause there is none in my NS folder. So I cant just play from the NS folder. =(

The servers you connect to through GAMESPY are WON. Try going again through that.

at the installation steam asks you if you want to keep your old half-life... you should have said "yes"...

now just reinstall HL and patch it to 1.1.1.0

thanks. Grrr, Stupid Steam. I diddnt wanna have to reinstall cause now I gotta find all my CDs and stuff stored away in the closet. I just wanted to know if there was an alternet awnser to the problem. Oh well. Thanks again.

There shouldn't be an exe in your ns dir...

it SHOULD look like this:

if it dosn't THEN there is something wrong.
note, not ALL of thos files will be there (some are simply ones I have made <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
