Wow just wow, American media has hit its all time low, it really honestly can't get any worse then this. I thought reality TV was the bottom, but once again I am surprised at the new lows of our programming.

First off, their taking too horrible tragic events and commercializing on them, that’s bad enough, but hey those media scum bags do it all the time. Now here’s the part that really pisses me off, they have turned it into some kind of competition, airing them both on the same night at the exact same time. This is no coincidence, I think this utterly disgusting, do you agree?

I dont' know what's worse, the fact that they think people would watch the crap, or the fact that people DO.

the part that really ticks me off is the elizabeth smart media coverage. the same time she was abuducted a poor little black girl from milwaukee was too, but because her family wasnt photogenic it didnt receive any support or coverage. now months after theyre still talking about the cute white girl, and we've heard so much about this local story that i dont even remember her name. the poor black girl was never found, and didnt make the news.

im sure this happens in larger cities all the time, and its disgusting.

Not to mention, with all undue respect Elizabeth Smart was a moron. She could have run away from her less then capable captors numerous times yet she failed to do so. Yet another little black girl who was kidnapped awhile ago, chewed her way through duct tape, broke through a window and ran home to escape her kidnappers, was she on the news? No. It’s just disgusting no matter what way you look at it.

Indeed, disgusting as it is. One must remember its a watcher's market, and thats why we are here on the NS forums and not sitting in front of the tv, or perhaps in front of the tv but not watching such crap channels, *stomache growls* my body is telling me that i need sustenance. I must go, its been 2 1/2 days since i last consumed something containing any kind of nutritional content =S.

I read about her in an artical, and of course thanks to our media I couldn't help but hear about Elizabeth, and formed my own ideas about her(see above). Anyway, does anyone who actully watch these shows have any input?
