Called gimp, it's free :)
My friend uses a program called GIMP, it is free and is actually quite good. It's a good alternative if you don't have the money to buy any of those expensive art programs.

I use this quite regularly, it is a great program. It has it's quirks, but everything's pretty intuitive, just spend about 15 minutes playing around with the filters, then go to http://gug.sunsite.dk/?page=t....f7dab41 for some tutorials.

    I love free stuff

We were talking about this in our 3d animation class today. Verdict was that it was pretty good, and it being free, then, WOOHOO!

Yeah, you cant beat a free program, especially one with all the same features of a $400 one. Plus, some of the script-fu plugins that people make are fecking AMAZING!

They have ones that clarify an image w/o distortion, and a whole myraid of other things... And you can even make em yourself.

It's really worth checking out. It takes a bit of looking to find the Windows setup file, and i'm feeling generous, so I did it for you...

GIMP was, and still is, a Linux program - the author decided to port it to Windows. Another thing you'll need to run The GIMP are the GNU windows libraries which are available at the same location as the windows installer - without them, it won't run.
