<div class="IPBDescription">Questions ...</div> I have only been playing NS 2.0 for a week or so now, and tbh its better than CS which I regularly play and am in a clan.

But I was wondering if:

1. NS 2.1 will be an official Steam game when it comes out.

2. If not will NS 2.1 work better with Steam with less crashes.

3. Is there a rough idea on a release date on NS 2.1 (after BETA testing etc).

4. And finnally will it be available through Steam or seperatly.

I know these may seem like pretty stupid questions and a little impatient but I love NS and obviously hate all the crashing and bugs on Steam.

Plz reply ...

Cheers ! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    4. I believe Valve as agreed to host NS via steam once, I think I read it in a post by Flayra or something.

2.1 will no longer be a third-party game in the Games menu in steam

    2. NS 2.1 has worked virtually flawlessly with Steam, and what errors there are will be fixed for the final release.

Note to kids: Steam is good, being a hippy, communist Steam-hater is not. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Note to esuna: Blatantly stealing lines from Monsieur Evil, is also not cool.

I think he said it best when he said "...And stop calling me 'Dude' like we are buddies or something."

Hey, you may not know - maybe calling "kids", "hippie communists" is an ancient family tradition or something...anyways...

So, just to be 100% sure, 2.1 <i>will</i> be strictly Steam, correct? So, gamespy arcade and the like will not work?

Currently ASE picks up Steam Half-Life as a viable game, so i presume in the future, yes, it will indeed be possible.

I've no idea, however, if Gamespy Arcade will update their system to cater for Steam, so be prepared to switch to ASE in the future if it doesn't. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

NS will eventually be steam-only, once it becomes practical to do so (ie it actually works right in steam). 2.1 will be either steam-only or both won and steam supported, depending on how well the whole steam thing works out this version.

It will probably be a while yet for 2.1 to be released, as they are still working on some major issues (some steam, some balance, but most of the old bugs look pretty well fixed).

Valve has shown a lot of support for NS. I wouldn't be surprised if it became an "official" mod, but that would probably only mean that steam will be able to install it automatically if you want it to, and updates come through steam. Retail sales, if it ever, are still a long way off.

I have heard that Valve will begin making people pay a monthly fee to use Steam and all its games as soon as Steam is at 100% with almost no bugs.

Is this true ... plz so NO !

No, that's only if you subscribe to HL2 on Steam.
