<div class="IPBDescription">24/7 ns_nancy misslecommand_final3</div> Hey guys, I would normally put this in the server support forum, but I think it's of interest to the general population. Clan No Chumps has decided to host a v1.04 server running nothing but 24/7 ns_nancy and ns_misslecommand_final3. Come play NS in all it's 1.04 glory. There's no electrification, old-school hud and sprites, FPS dependant jet packs and bulding, Turrets are worth their res, more than one gorge is bad, evolutions are hive-dependant, and best of all WE HAVE ns_nancy! Even with it's downs (jp+hmg rush), 1.04 was a blast, and it has this dirty, gritty feel in the hud and textures. It's just like I remember, and it's a whole lot of fun. It also made me really appreciate what we have in 2.01 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> . We'd like you guys to come and play, it'll be up forever providing there's continued interest! We'll also take requests for other official/custom maps/fun maps to be added to the server, after all, this it for YOU.

    Although I can't say I approve of the <i>unique</i> choice of map rotation, the idea is all good.     What a shame that my 1.04 "backup" crashes everytime I try and start a game. Is there some trick to it that I need to know? Maybe the folder architecture won't run unless I change it to "NS"?

    You got it dead on Sailor.. NS1.04 only works if its named NS.
    Just rename your current folder to ns2 or something and your backup to ns when you want to play ns.1.04

    we JUST set it up last night, so don't expect any huge miracles overnight. We're really hoping that we can get enough community support to keep it populated most times, as it's a good server. I know for a fact that we'll be playing on it when we have the chance, and if you want to make map requests, you can do so at <a href='http://www.nochumps.com' target='_blank'>http://www.nochumps.com</a>. Also, feel free to grab a bunch of your friends and slam the server, that's what it's there for.

    all you need is the ns_install_v1.exe file, (just version 1, 1.04 was the server patch). you can get it from filefront, fileshack, or here <a href='http://www.edgefiles.com/files/4446.html' target='_blank'>http://www.edgefiles.com/files/4446.html</a>

    jet HMG rush @ min 6th are beatable with a descent team play.

    OMG YES!!

    I remember the last day of 1.04 I went to a bunch of random servers doing recycle jp/hmg rushes and killing the hive myself. You know: ip > armory > armslab > recycle arms lab > upgrade armory > proto > research jp > drop jp/hmg for yourself and win! You didn't even have to cap nodes. Soooooo fun. I got banned once for upgrade hacking. Good stuff.

    But really you could do alot more than jp in 1.04, HA was more effective than it is in 2.0, so was seiging, so was anything. Everything was easier as marine in 1.04. The only strat thats in 2.0 that wouldn't have worked better in 1,04 is elec nodes. And it's obvious why it wouldn't work.

    It'd be a small matter to put other maps in rotation (even custom maps, just gimme the URL to the map for download). Just tell me what you want, and I'll stick them in. It might be better if people post their map request and whatever else on our forums as it seems the mods don't like server posts. Even though there is no other way to get the information around, as IRC channels usually kick/ban adverts.....or just hate them badly.

    Well, you COULD do other things in 1.04...but occurences like that rarely happened.

    well, like I said, at the very least, you get to slum for a little bit and realize how kush we have things now. Seeing the old-school hive-sight, the jacked up (but ultimately more intuitive) menus was great. And like forlorn pointed out, we <b>are</b> allowed to advertise our server, as long as we stick to the facts. The facts are as stated, it's 1.04, 14-man server, playing ns_nancy and ns_misslecommand_final3. The ip is in my sig.

    Install the rest of the maps that were changed with 2.0's release. Caged, hera, tanith, eclipse, and ...well just put em all in rotation. Just stick nancy in the rotation TWICE.

    all the maps are there, just not in rotation. There are some of us with rcon and we can change the map to any official map and misslecommand
