<div class="IPBDescription">Fade costume for a theme park, possible?</div> Okay, I am currently working as "halloween entertainment" in warner brothers movie world<a href='http://www.movieworld.de/halloween/index.htm' target='_blank'>,</a> entertainment park, germany, Bottrop-kirchellen.
I am walking around in the park as monster, one of 180, scaring little girls and adults, walking trought queue lines and around everywere, making people scream, run and laught.
The payment is low the fun is great.
<!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Now if I get hired again next year I might even run around in the park as fade...
Jeah I am <u>seriously</u> thinking about doing that if thats possible, and because its for warner brothers it wont be a crappy fade you smile about silently.

Such a costume would have 3 huge problems, the legs, the head and the theme.
The legs are almost solveable by some little tricks.
The neck MUST be shortened at least by half or it wont ever work. I would also like to find a cheap fade-like mask in germany for the basics.
The theme is not solveable, apart from Batman and Wild Wild West there is no "fiction" anywere, its more classic horror mostly with vampires and lots of blood. Warner does not have anything to do with PC games also. So if, it would be a bloody fade.
The details would require lots of improvisation, some time and money but wont be the main problem.

Did I miss something?
If its possible would you come visit me?
Am I completely mad?

I always wanted a job like that. Probably on the Marvel superhero island thing in America. Sneering at kids = fun.

I think the main question lies in Flayra's permission.

Does it? I don't see why he shouldn't. Ollj should carry around a sign that says www.natural-selection.org , just to lure them here.

I meant that it should be requested, true it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission, but I think Flayra should be asked just the same.

Yeah, its Flayra's intellectual property, and you don't want him bribing little kids to swarm you and eat your eyeballs.

I think for one (not sure) you dont have to ask permission.
I mean, only the names and art work are copyrighted? (How can they copyright a beast on 2 legs? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> )
  • NecrosisNecrosis The Loquacious Sage Join Date: 2003-08-03 Member: 18828Members, Constellation
LMAO. Its not quite as simple as "beast on two legs".

If you dress up as an Alien from "Alien" and walk around as hired help, you better believe that the IP is infringed. At the very least you could expect some form of legal action by attempting to associate Fox's IP with your employer. Most companies would cheerfully seek legal action, because INACTION would cause a precedent.

IE, anyone anywhere has the right to dress up as an Alien for promotional purposes because this one time Fox didn't do anything about it.

Now, just translate this across to the NS aliens. They've a distinctive likeness which has probably been copyrighted. Use of said likeness in a promotion would violate Flayra's IP. If he took no action, then anyone else could do the same and claim a legal precedent. Thus Flayra would need to give permission, in order to protect his IP and avoid an unfavourable legal precedent.

At least, thats the case as I understand it - its also why seemingly frivolous lawsuits appear in the courts - companies HAVE to take every step necessary in order to protect their IP, else it'll be used against them in the future.

We live in a very **** up (and copyrighted) world..

Btw. would Beast infringe Flayra's "intellectual property" by making his super-skulk doll or the guys in the artwork forum for sketching a NS figure?
