Eb Games Revises Hl2 Release Date

On Tuesday of this week we sent the email below to all of our customers who pre-ordered Half-Life
2.  We are writing you today to keep you as up to date as possible about the status of this highly
anticipated game.  We have now moved our projected release date back up to November 27, 2003. 
Please keep in mind that this date is very tentative and is likely to change a few times before it
starts shipping.

As always, we will keep you updated with any changes in the release date as we receive news about
Half-Life 2.

Interesting, eh? They had originally had it for November, then TBD, then 2004, and now back to November. Perhaps they have gotten some inside word...

And yes teenangsters, I know that these dates frequently mean very little. But EB is often fairly dialed-in on these dates before most companies. Hopefully we're looking at a holiday release after all.

I only trust 2 companies in this whole fiasco.

Vivendi and EB.... Vivendi have said 2004, EB have said November....
So I'm like Romeo and Juliet, torn between 2 worlds in a land I didn't create!

But yeah, so glad WON went down 2 weeks after the initial Steam release came about and we all got nice and snuggly with it ;p

I just want to know if I should buy the GTA double pack for my Xbox or wait for HL2...because GTA is november 4th, but if Half-Life comes out before Christmas I'd like to get it....pffft, where're the iron-clad release dates that are only changed under penalty of death (to 5 lawyers and a heard of sheep).

On the subject of EB: they're an awesome retailer...if only the one near here hadn't gone out of bussiness, now you have overpriced KB Toys, Toys R Us, Best Buy (which I don't like for electronics, they....just aren't right for some reason), Circuit City and all those department stores.

EB...Babbages.....freakin' anything...give me any better stores!

I first started going to Babbages around the time the original X-Wing came out for the PC (on floppy disks too, my first PC game! Didn't even have a sound card when I first played it either, and it was DOS based, now I feel old) Since then it has moved three times in the mall and went from Babbages to Gamestop. I remember the days that they had an entirle WALL filled with nothing but PC Games! Now, PC games are reduced to ONE SIDE of a kiosk in the middle of the store for the new ones, and on the other side is all the old ones....

Makes me angry in a way.

Just an FYI, EB uses November as thier "we have no idea when" month for game releae dates. Duke Nukem Forever and TF2 have been "November (insert this year)" for several years now. I think the other day they got around to removing pre-orders for Prey... ;)

actually I went to my local EB store and found out that someone there actually had Duke Nukem Forever pre-ordered in June 2001 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> She was still on their lists.

Personally, the only one I trust in the whole thing is Valve official releases. Vivendi is not Valve, they're just the publisher. They have less say than you'd think as to the official release dates.

And I really don't think I'd trust anything in 'The Enquirer'. Sensationalistic yellow-press at its best.

Damn im just like ya..in a way..

I only got 60 dollars no more. I have to buy my own game however if i buy doom3 instead of HL2 i am stuck with downloading HL2 and i dont want that.I really dont.Anyways i rather not buy doom3 get HL2 and be happy with the HAVOK engine (right?)
